has anyone played a whole 82game season without simulating? how far did u go and how long did it take u? was it fun?

I haven't done that since 2k3. Took 2 1/2 months for the regular season and another month for the playoffs. After that I vowed to never do that again. Takes WAYYYYYYYYYY too long.

im 50 games in on 12 minute quarters. i started in early march, so at this rate assuming i make the playoffs i should be done by june. so 3 months. im having a blast with it. im really excited to get to the offseason, and beyond that hopefully i can keep it up. on 2k8 i played a whole season and about 15 games into the second season before giving up on it. though i quit playing only because my game kept freezing. otherwise id probably still be playing.

I usually try to play a full season after the real NBA trade deadline has passed so i can have pretty good rosters. But i end up getting bored and quit. The last time i actually tried to play a full season was nba 2k8 with Golden State....only made it to 42 games

I've been playing 10-12 minute quarters and 58-game seasons on 2k8 with Portland. I'm halfway through my third season and it has taken about 14-15 months. I've had my ups and downs, but usually I play about two or three games a week.

It was about to get boring somewhere during the second season, but i decided to overhaul the entire league and trade players (back) to their respective teams in the beginning of the 2008-09 season. That and turning off CPU trades pretty much saved it for me. Another thing that helped were accurate draft classes and re-adjusting CPU players' tendencies to replicate the current NBA season. Right now I've put so much effort into this save game that wouldn't even think about starting another one.

I'm pretty much a stat freak and I even been thinking about starting a 82-game season when 2k10 comes around. It would be awesome if they kept track of all the different records concerning season and career totals for players, coaches, team records, etc. That would definitely be a further interest boost for me to start a full 82 game season.

Yeah I haven't done that since 2K5. I played about 65 games of the franchise mode i'm in now... Thats why AI won MVP! lol

You'll need to be more specific as most of that stuff is already there. Individual career records are available on the player card. Team and League Game/Season/Career/Playoff records are available in NBA.com.

I would say if people aren't seeing it and you need to point it out to them, then there's either one or two things:

1) People don't actually LOOK for these sort of things.

or

2) You can do a better job of making this sort of information accessible.

I think there can be some improvements to making this information more accessible than the way it was organized this year.

You can't stop people from not looking... this is obvious when people ask questions that can be answered by reading the instruction book. But you can provide a few more "indicators" for these sort of things, especially in Franchise mode.

I am playing now, played 81 games as Pistons I was locked in the 3rd seed ( won Central Division ) so no need to play the Heat in last game in season. So I am Ironically playing the Cavs in First Round (Pistons 3 seed Cavs 6 ), so I am up 2 games to 0 On my way to Cleveland for game 3. This is my first time playing in playoffs since nba 2k3 were I lost (Wizards) to the Vince Carter led Raptors 3-1, Yeah I still remember it. So Im excited. Its a testament to this game, I always gave up on my seasons in the past because the game had too many issues, now with some tweaking I will finish this season.

You'll need to be more specific as most of that stuff is already there. Individual career records are available on the player card. Team and League Game/Season/Career/Playoff records are available in NBA.com.

The ones I was thinking about were somewhat connected with the number of games played. It would be something like the following list:

Players
- All-time statistics: points (and any other stat) total for entire career (maybe as a top10 or an even longer list)
- Highest *stat* total for one season/playoffs/series/finals
- Highest *stat* average for one season/playoffs/series/finals

Teams
-Most consecutive (total/home/away) (season/playoff) games won
-Most consecutive (total/home/away) (season/playoff) games lost

Coaches
-Total wins (season/playoff)
-Win percentage (season/playoff)

I assume that you're indicating that 2k9 already has most of those records which sounds great. I'm not exactly sure what 2k9 has and what it doesn't as I'm still on 2k8 (which has only individual single game highs). Having the ones which are often mentioned during real NBA broadcasts definitely make the experience deeper. All these would add depth to the in-game commentary as well.

i am playing a season with portland and havent simmed a game at all. Right now im in the western conference finals with Utah. on the east it is cleveland and boston.It has never got boring for me at all.

Yeah i have, me and my brother are in year 2 of our association and we have played all of the games with both our teams.

It's taken us ages but we're still having fun with it.

I just finished my 3rd season with the T'Wolves. I simmed the second half of the first season. The 2nd season I simmed about 30 games through out and this 3rd season I only simmed about 10 games and just won the championship. 1 entire season just takes so long to play, I enjoy the offseason and making changes to my teams as much as playing but unlike football where you can go through half a season in a day, basketball takes over a month to do so.

im now in my second season, played all games(82+playoffs in the first season, 38 games in the second) so far and its been fun except for that freakin lose glitch they cant seem to get rid of, but aww well. Oh and I play on 8min quarters .

I can never finish an 82 game season. There always ends up being a trade in real life and I wanna switch teams, or I get bored playing with the same team all the time. I have probably started 10 different associations
