    Player fatigue...what can be done?

Why do I feel like I'm always at a disadvantage when I'm playing against the computer when it comes to fatigue? I'm 11 games in to my season with the Cardinals, and I've already had to sit Pujols twice, Ankiel twice, Ludwick twice, and a couple others at least once.

Game 12 is against the Cubs. Their team has full health and mine is all over board in terms of the health bars. What is going on what is the resolution? Pujols in real life has not had a day off yet. However, if I had played him consecutively throughout these 11 games, his health bar would be less than a 1/4 full.

I love this game, but this absolutely puzzles me. Can anyone please shed some light on a problem that doesn't seem to have been fixed for the past several versions of this game?

    Thanks!

You have to manually save your season or franchise after you are done playing a game. It auto-saves but you have to manually save it again. This helps the problem but doesn't fix it.

First day of my franchise I take out a gigantic loan and buy the chartered flight. I also buy every other available facility that could impact performance, but I don't remember whether or not any of those help with fatigue.

It helps a lot. I still have to sit guys, but at a pretty realistic rate. The only issue I have with batter stamina at this point is the fact that DH somehow burns through energy. I'm in the 10th game of my Jays franchise and I've had to sit my usual DH twice. That seems like a bug, considering in real life DH is often used as a day off for a position player.

Yes, I bought the first class flight and really haven't seen any issues. I would recommend doing this asap.

Guys...how far down is the bar when you think you MUST rest players?
            I'm just curious?

              damn...beat me to it.
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I have had Longoria, Upton, and Crawford down to about 40% or so. I have decided to rest if they get to around 25 to 30% or so.

I'm resting my players when the bar is roughly between 50-60 percent full. I'm most concerned if I let it go to far that either they won't perform up to their ability or they run the risk of an injury.

Now, you might say 50-60 percent isn't that low, but when I look at the entire Cubs lineup and everyone is somewhere around 90 percent and above, it gives them an advantage.

That chartered flight suggestion won't work for me because all I'm doing is playing a season. Anyways, all these millionaire baseball players should be on chartered planes.

                    Thanks though.

I do believe I have been doing this. The only time I don't is when I save and exit during an in game save.

I rest a player when they hit the 40-50% mark. But it seems that I have to rest players that wouldn't normally sit 3 times a week!

The first thing I did in my new franchise was buy the first class flight, but Im still sitting people a ridiculous amount of times

I only rest players when the "coach" recommends it. Aside from the DH thing, I get pretty realistic results that way.

That recommendation seems to come around 30% or less, although my eyeballing might be a bit off. The bars do get pretty low before they recommend it, though.

Re: Player fatigue...what can be done?

The fatigue issue is a pain in the butt, and considering all the amazing work done on this game, the fact that fatigue is an issue every year really is baffling. I feel the same way as the OP, my lineup is usually very low on energy while the CPU I'm playing has a line up that is usually near full energy. So it is definitely annoying.

Do I rest my players? Rarely. If I rested them every time the coaches suggested it, my star players would sit 30-40 games per year. I will play a star guy 5 games in a row with his energy seemingly bottomed out (~ 15-20%?). If they get injuried, that's the price I'll have to play. I play in Season mode, and played Ramirez and Soriano of the Cubs in probably 156 of the 162 games. Neither got hurt. So the risk of injury may increase while playing fatigued, but it's by no means an automatic you'll hurt a guy.

As for the argument they'll be less effective? I'll increase hitting sliders to compensate if I believe this to be a problem, cause I'm not sitting star players every 4th game.

I love this game, but honestly, how hard would it be to get this right eventually?

I wait until the Manager suggests sitting someone.....also...if playing a blow out...winning or losing....I will go to the bench and sit a few of my most valuable regulars....affords them extra rest and cuts down on the chance of injury during a meaningless game.
