2k needs to just make a game with real player builds, fake names, and a powerful editor and they'd be back in business. |

Re: Whats the Chances of?
It's not the "engines" in place that make the game what it is. It is how they are used and what is created with the engines that make the game.
They started from scratch with next gen because there were limits with the old stuff and they knew going forward that it was a better option. There is a lot more potential in what they are using now, but up to this point they haven't done the greatest of jobs getting the most out of what they have. This is my understanding of it all, so I might not be exactly correct. |
Re: Whats the Chances of?
It is not the same engine.
All next gen Maddens were built from the ground up. It is one of Ian's biggest regrets that they did not port the Madden engine directly from the PS2/Xbox versions and build upon them on the new consoles. It has taught them a valuable lesson though, Ian said, that being that when the next next generation of consoles arrive they will no way start building a new engine again, but stick with this one. Only constantly refining it as the new hardware allows. |
Re: Whats the Chances of?
Everything was built from the ground up that is why all the features needed to be completely rebuilt and not simply ported over.
