loud fan on my ps3

i noticed my fan starting to sound loud all of a sudden never noticed it before good thing it's under warranty

Take it apart.

I've done it before on my friend's PS3 and it is pretty amazing how much dust build up there is.

It's not that hard but if you are too technical or have a warranty, I wouldn't recommend it.

i noticed in the manual it said you could use a low powered vacuum cleaner to clean the dust out

You could but I'd say that would only get around 15% of the dust. (If dust is even the problem)

The bad part is that when the dust moves around it can get stuck somewhere else and cause issues. If you don't want to take it apart, I'd recommend having Sony take a look at it.

My fan is real loud too, and my Ps3 is dust free, I noticed the loudness only after the 2.70 update and only when I'm playing the show.

Once you open up the PS3, can I use canned air to clean it out?

I opened the PS3 and cleaned it out the best I could. There was a lot of dust in there it wasn't even funny. I have been playing The Show for an hr now and the 2nd level fan hasn't kicked on. Maybe it did he trick.

thats good, I have taken my PS3 apart and it's easy, Keeping your PS3 clean Is key to keeping it running great.

I don't know what is worst. Having my PS3 die after 16 months or getting laid off...or both.

I cant even afford to fix it and God forbid sony fix it for free consider it was low quality blu ray readers in the machines
