A question about Pro-Tak & stats

First off what you all are doing with Madden as well as college is outstanding! I've played Madden since 1990 and college since Bill Walsh and I have never seen this much interaction and community input being taken into consideration and added to the game. great job!

My question is if a initiate the tackle and other players join in to make the tackle do I still get credit for the tackle? (I'm a stats junkie) That also goes for sacks. Will that count as 1/2 a sack or assist? How will the game calculate this stat?

Its a good question though.

One that I'd like to know. I know they have assisted tackles and half sacks, but I'm not entirely sure how they are awarded if > 2 players make a tackle and if there is a total tackles (solo + assisted) stat line or its separate like 2k5 and not a sum.

Its a good question though.

You know the funny thing is, in the NFL the tackle stat is mostly a figment of your imagination.

Saying "so and so had 100 tackles" has no real basis in reality and instead just a fluff number.

Peter King had a great article near the end of last season about how messed up tackes are in the NFL. I guess after the game each team is able to submit to the official scorer their tackle totals, and they largely fudge them.

One specific example was with the Colts, who handed out more solo tackles on the season than plays their defense saw.

I know they used to fudge the hell out of Urlacher's tackle totals after EVERY game.

Goose Gosselin is regular reading for NFL fans. Even Peter King notes him as being the best media member when it comes to the NFL Draft.

Yeah its a lot of fluff and estimation. Its not even an official NFL stat I dont think. But, it is tracked IRL so it would be cool to have. It does give some sort of bearing on a players ability to be near the ball carrier to make a play.

my point is why not have ONE thread where questions can be asked that he can see, Im sure there are questions that get asked in separate threads that get pushed pages down they he may never get to answer, its the easiest thing in the world and everyone would be happy.
