    Oakland Raiders-HC09

Doing another one, hopefully i stick with it...

The Raiders have hired new HC Benny Lava(of youtube fame), to replace Lane Kiffin. Titan personality, model#165(the last one) because that looked the most hard-nosed.

so, I started in the preseason, simmed through the 1st season and finished...7-9! But my team talent-wise was last in the NFL, so I knew that I needed to rebuild to compete within 3 years. I got the Maceo Sweetney draft(holy **** it was hard!)

    House Rules:
    no inseason scouting
    no pro days
    no individual workouts
no special skills for me or my staff

My offensive playbook modeled after the steelers one, with a lot of inside runs. however, i have mostly short passes rather than long ones. I might add long pases later on though.

defensively, I used the jags physical D playbook, but with more man blitzes and no zone plays.

    Philosophies
    QB-pure passer
    RB-power
    FB-blocking
    WR-strong/blocking
    TE-blocking
    OT, OG, C-run blocking
    DE, DT-balanced
    MLB, OLB-balanced
    CB-ballhawk
    FS, SS-balanced
    K-accuracy
    P-power

Coach Skills(at the end of season 1):
    OL phyisical 2
    DL physical 5
    LB physical 2
    OL intangibles 3
    DL intangibles 4
    LB intangibles 4
    DB intangibles 3
    OL learning 2
    DL learning 2
    LB learning 2
    DB learning 2

I want to upgrade to HB intangibles 2, and then OL physical 3, and then get HB, OL, DL, LB, and DB learning to 3. I'll see where to go from there, as all of those upgrades will take a minimum of 2 more years

Since there is no one on the roster IRL i am really attached to, I might just gut out the whole roster and fill it with my players. Im giving myself 5 years to replace all 53 members of the original starting roster.

But I think that the intro could have been better.
      Don't worry though

        Offseason

I fired all of my coaches, Ill post who I hired on wednesday, along with the other coaching changes and my roster.

I cut dead weight in DT terdell sands and LG robert gallery.
also, franchised Aso, who had a TERRIBLE year in the game. he dropped all the way to an 87 ovr, but still has 93 potential. he got injured a little and was never the same after. gonna look to trade him, hopefully at least a 3rd

in FA, i signed RG Duke preston(78/81) to a 5yr deal.
DT bryan robinson(79/79) to a 1 yr deal
DT john thornton(77/77) to a 1 yr deal
        CB kelvin hayden(85/86) to a 3yr deal
CB leigh torrence(73/73) to a 2 yr deal
TE brandon manumaleuna(77/77) to a 1 yr deal
        C matt lehr(73/73) to a 1 yr deal
        FS john mcgraw(70/70) to a 1yr deal
LE antonio smith(74/74) to a 1 yr deal
TE sean ryan(74/74) to a 1 yr deal
        QB Chris Redman(74/74) to a 1yr deal

Draft:I started off with only the 12th pick in each round, seven picks in total

Trades: Aso to the Pats for 2(55) and a 2010 4th
        then, I had 6 trade-downs

        1(12) to pats for 1(30), 3(94), 2010 3rd
        1(30) to rams for 2(48), 3(80)
        2(44) to dolphins for 3(66), 4(98)
        2(55) to bears for 3(81), 4(113)
        4(113) to panthers for 5(133), 7(197)
        5(140) to dolphins for 6(162) and a 2010 7th

Draft(right now I am about to start week 1 vs the jets, so I'll say how good/bad the picks were)

        2(16)-Georgia C Cliff Kennedy:solid starter at C, nice potential
3(2)-Toledo RE Jessie Dockett:BUST. nice potential, but a ridiculously low learning, so he wont pan out
3(12)-New Mexico St. LE Jake Holton: BUST, see Dockett, Jessie
3(16)-Syracuse LOLB Durrand Dean: starter of the future at LOLB, im gonna have him sit behind thomas for a year at LOLB because of the play knowlege difference
3(17)-Houston DT Jordan Abrams-decent 3rd DT, spot starter
3(30)-Texas Tech RE Carl Myers-BUST, see holton, jake and dockett, jessie
4(2)-Rowan RT Todd Gainer:nice backup RT, but his medioce learning and awareness will prevent him from being a starter
4(12)-Pitt WR Sean Hutton:can develop to a nice slot WR, or a mediocre #2 WR.
5(5)-VMI RB Max Caulley:terrific attributes overall, but a 48 potential in awarenss kills it all. a decent RB if he gets, say, 50 touches a season
6(2)-North Texas CB Dallas Burke:sucks, but i guess he's better than john bowie
        6(12)-P.View A&M DT Tremain Wheaton:cut
        7(5)-N.Illinois TE Rico Taylor:cut
7(12)-Duke RG Senario Forbes:either develops into a terrific backup or a mediocre starter.

        UDFA
        Culver-STockton QB J.Wyatt:cut
New Hampshire LG T.White:a average backup
Washington FB M.Durfee:FB of the future next year after i let go of griffith
Ohio MLB B.Rodgers:a good backup, but not good enough to replace morrison
Idaho St. ROLB P.Rose:absolute steal. potential to be better than thomas howard. Ill let him sit behind howard for 2 years and develop, and if i let howard go this guy should be a beast

All in all, I completley bombed in drafting the DEs. Looking back, i should have stayed still at 12 and taken that marbury kid(DE) from USC, he looks like a stud right now. or even DT thaddeus cheeks
the next draft, shefter said something about two DEs from notre dame, so I guess ill look forward to that right now.

As of now, the roster is weakest at the DL, and strongest at the LB position. DBs are pretty good, OL has some potential with the rookies, and the RBs are decent. QBs...dont get me started on russel
