Virtua Tennis 2009 Wii Hands-On Preview and Possible Delay? (Videogamer, Boomtown)
Videogamer has posted their hands-on preview of Virtua Tennis 2009.
"While VT 2009 on Wii gives you all but complete control of your racket, the actual movement of your character is fully handled by the console if you elect to play without a nunchuck. While I've yet to experience manual player control, I can certainly attest to the fact that the automated running seems pretty solid – leaving you free to concentrate on where you want to send your next shot. On a similar note, the game will also offer full support for gamers who decide not to invest in MotionPlus. Having rather fallen in love with the improved motion controls I was a tad worried about how the the “vanilla” version would compare, but as it turns out I needn't have worried."
On another note, it looks like Virtua Tennis 2009 will be slightly delayed.
"As you may have already noticed, VT2009 has now been pushed back to a June ship date. It’s kind of a bummer as I know everyone is looking forward to the game, but believe me when I say it’s almost always worth it to add an extra level of polish and make sure the game is top-notch, as opposed to shipping early with problems."Tags: None -
This is why EA always beat these 2nd rate publishers
as much as i love Sega there marketing and comment has always been the worst...Comment

The difference here is that VT is an established brand while EA's tennis game is a completely new property.
I think both games will turn out good, but VT's wealth of options may end up trumping EA's more barebones package.
We'll see how it turns out next month.Comment

I was probably gonna wait until Motion Plus drops anyways, but I would have been tempted to get Virtua Tennis...now I can really just wait for reviews and see which is better (I don't have time for 2 different Wii Tennis games, no matter how much I enjoy tennis lol).Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment
