Online Lag Still Ruins the Game, About to Trade the Game In

I realize Ive posted about this before on here, but it is very frustrating to me to see such a great game ruined by a terrible online experience. IT IS NOT MY CONNECTION.....no other games perform like MLB 09 The Show on PSN. Even with Maddens flaws the past few years, at least they provide a playable online option for its community.

Can someone please tell me that this is going to stop this year FINALLY?! This rescent patch may have fixed the extended traffic delays that occured, but the real problem is in the flow of the game(not the traffic delays). About 99% of the time, the game will stutter mid-pitch, absolutely RUINING any timing you had. Its nearly impossible to check swing(WHY?!) I can check swing off line, Im not doing anything wrong control wise. Rampant missing animations,

Asking for an identical experience to offline would be unreasonable, but what we have now is also unreasonable. IM GOING TO TRADE THE GAME IN FOR THE 3RD YEAR IN A ROW!!!!! That is pathetic.

this game is so great offline that i could care less about online play. it's hard enough trying to get through a 162 game season offline, i can't even imagine trying to do a season online and having to schedule games with people. don't trade the game in. play against the computer, it is still very rewarding!!!

Yea, I gave up online a while ago. There's serious problems with sync issues and various other sorts. It's not even necessarily lag, just a sloppy out of sync experience.

And there's no point in complaining about it because all you will get is standard "it's your connection" replies, when it's clearly not.

At least the offline game is superb

Just forget it's there. Online is terrible and I highly doubt they will fix it. Seriously, pretend it's not even a feature. Enjoy the offline game because it's very clear online is/has not been their focus.

My online experience has been pretty good since the patch.

Sorry that yours isn't up to snuff. I agree that SCEA should try and address it somehow next year, because it definitely seems that a lot of people are having issues. Fortunately, I'm not one of them.

I wouldn't trade the game in bro, offline it's phenomenal. However, there is NO excuse for the piss poor online play this game has. None. '08 ran better, and that is just sad. I don't even bother playing '09 online anymore. You are supposed to make improvements, not make it worse. I would gladly pay $10 a month to have good online servers in MLB 2010.

the game was still worth $60 just for offline and TWO online games

all i can say is it just depends on both peoples connections...MOST of my games have had sweet connections...with the occasional hiccup mid pitch, i just pray it doesnt nail the batter (unless of course thats my intent lol)....ive only had two out of the 14 games i played in the past week, that were really crappy connections, and yeah in those instances, it drags the game out so bad...

i would think regardless of if your paying for a server or not tho, youd still have to deal with the other persons connection....hell i LOST mine in the top of the 9th in a game i was losing 1-0....I didnt wanna lose my connection then lol....i was playing St. Louis, they needed to get whipped...and my connection is pretty frickin sweet, just one of those freak odds...im still mad about that...hope that guy aint mad lol, told him i owed him another one when he was ready

I agree that the online is not good. I played one game and that was enough for me.

Even if you don't play online, if online play is included in the game it should be done right. I don't play online often but it is refreshing to play a human opponent on occasion.
