Is this a glitch, or extreme realism?

I made a HUGE trade in my Tigers franchise yesterday, and dealt Adam Everett and Carlos Guillen to the Marlins in exchange for Hanley Ramirez. Yeah, I know, I couldn't believe it either, but they are dumping contracts and were very high on the hot Guillen who was hitting .340 through the end of May.

Anyways, I want Hanley to wear number 2 on my team. When I got him, he was assigned to 3. I couldn't figure it out, so I edit him and set his uniform number to 2. Next game...he is wearing 3. So I figure I did something wrong, and go back after the game edit him back to #2. Again, next game he is wearing 3. Now I am getting frustrated. Then I realize...how could I have not thought of this? Number 2 is retired for the Tigers as Charlie Gehringer's number. And sure enough there it is hanging on the wall out in Left Center at Comerica Park.

I know this isn't a glitch, but I just had to tell this story. This game is nothing short of amazing when it comes to little things like this. Has anyone else had a similar situation happen?

Haha, dang I usually get trades for Guillen too. But the cpu tries to get him and zoom zoom for below average starters like R.A. Dickey or Ian Snell...

This goes against everything the Marlins have ever done.

      But, you did screw Loria.

      Nice trade.

That's a really nice extra touch by restricting the use of retired numbers.

Ha, yeah, I doubt the Marlins would be trading Hanley away - at least not until they're done winning their next World Series. When I started reading, I thought that was the glitch you were gonna be talking about

HAHA....Yeah I was going to go in that direction, but I figured, thats not what I wanted to point out! They won't let you use retired numbers. That is detail!
