How often can the bug be reproduced? That's a question for the developers...I'm not testing this for them...

          Re: Blocked Kicks

I blocked almost every kick one season, just get a fast DE or DT (75+ spd) and put them at the very middle position on the line, then get your returner (the far back guy) and bring him up on the right side of that guy, the blocker will take your returner instead of the DE/DT 75% of the time, and he will go free and block it.

As it was said earlier, kinda cheap, but if it works, it works, right?

Better than the frustration I faced the previous 6 years of never blocking one. Kinda made up for it! haha

            Re: Blocked Kicks

            Get this.

I've only blocked one kick on Madden, it was '03. It was an extra point after my opponent scored at TD with seconds left to tie it at 30. The XP would've won it for them. John Lynch somehow got back there, blocked it, and I won in OT.

I think, especially on long FGs the chance to block without some cheesy glitch needs to be way higher.

                Re: Blocked Kicks

The bigger problem in my mind, was after a timeout, the CPU would take no time at all, and just line up and kick at super speed. The kicker wouldn't even take a second to breath, as soon as the center touched the ball, he'd snap it, and you'd have no time to even select which defensive player you wanted to control.

I blocked a punt in Madden 09. Ran it in for a TD.

                    Re: Blocked Kicks

In all the years I've been playing Madden, I've probably only blocked a total of 2-3 kicks, this includes past-gen versions as well.

On the flip side, in NCAA 07, I blocked 75% plus of any kind of kick. This of course is way too high.

What I've wanted to see put into Madden (and NCAA as well) is a block kick slider. On the left side of the spectrum, you have it set to how it is in Madden now, meaning very very difficult to block a kick. On the right side of the spectrum, you have how it was in NCAA 07 where it was very easy to block kicks.

This way users can adjust to their liking what they feel is the appropriate amount of blocked kicks.

                        Re: Blocked Kicks

I think longer FG should have a higher probability of being blocked. The way to possibly solve this is to have maybe a holder and long snapper sync sequence. What this means is you have to press a set of buttons or line something up properly to get a hold underway and if there is a miscue the kick is harder or something along those lines. Maybe the kicker will have to readjust because it is out of sync or something.

Though this would be unrealistic because there would be pausing between each interval there should be something where kicking is a bit harder and more prone to being blocked when further away.

Though I hate to admit it (being a Falcons fan and all) Peppers is a perfect example of a beast kick blocker.

                        /my 2 cents.
I doubted you Roy Williams since you only won with a someone else's team... Now you have proven me wrong.

                        You have earned my respect.

What they really need to do is make the angle of kick smaller for long kicks, like in real life. That is why long kicks are easier to block anyway. Because in order to get the distance the kicker has ta kick it lower.
