    Too many blown saves

    Hello all,
I play w/ the braves on Vet. difficulty and now 3 games in a row my bullpen has spoiled my winning effort. For the last three games lowe, vazquez, and jair had solid starts all going at least 6 inn. and only about 2 or 3 average runs. Then when i go to the bullpen it just feels like the cpu is cheating, i mean getting good hits is one thing but going from a 3-2 lead to a 11-5 loss is ridiculous. And i swear everytime it's the bullpen losing it. I have reliever and starter stamina at 5 any suggestions?

The most frustrating part is i'm hitting my spots, so i should be getting outs right? Most of my relievers have at least half energy

The CPU is not cheating. Make sure to throw low in the zone, vary your pitches, and the strength at which you throw them. It might help if you name a specific pitcher.

        Not necessarily.

What does hitting your spots mean?
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I am pretty sure that he means he is hitting his release point. Which doesn't matter if you aren't throwing in the right spot anyway.

                    Re: Too many blown saves

I have a season going with the Braves right now so maybe I can help. What pitchers are you using? I have Carlyle, Acosta, Glavine, Logan, Moylan, Soriano, and Gonzo in my pen. It took me a few weeks and some send down/call ups to get the right mix of guys. If you aren't far along in your season maybe make a move or two and drop the guys who are pitching poorly. Also I have a set rotation that I have stuck with since the 30th game or so. Not sure if there are any effects on the pitchers ratings other than energy but I noticed when I got into a firm rotation my pen went on about a month hot streak.

One thing I notice with these guys is to basically stick to 2 pitch types. I learned the hard way not to throw a slider with Gonzo to righties or curveball with Moylan to anybody. I noticed a lot early in my season that throwing the 3rd and 4th pitches got me in serious trouble.

Also, you will run into some cold streaks its just the nature of baseball. My bullpen gave away two games against Boston in the 9th after great starting pitching.

This is correct. Make sure to choose every pitch wisely, and the last 3 innings shoulod take almost as long as the first 6.

Also moemoe, please, if you want to argue, then PM me. No use derailing a thread like that.

You should practice what you preach. Go back and read the thread and then ask yourself who decided to start bickering. Sometimes minding your own business is the way to go.

OP...As I am thinking I remember what was causing me a lot of trouble pitching. Make sure to keep your pitches low. If you throw them high in the zone (especially breaking balls), they are gonna get crushed. If you have to throw high, make it out of the zone, and a fastball. Also, if you name a pitcher, we can give more specific help.
