    CM Punk

First there was the people who hadn't seen Punk until he debuted on "ECW". He's not that good, they said, just another indy geek IWC darling who's sloppy and won't be able to cut it.

Then there were the dweebs, ROHbots and other assorted mouth breathers who said the WWE would never push him, he doesn't fit their mold. Oh, can't forget the people who thought he would flop because he wouldn't be able to work the watered down WWE style. Selling a wrestler they actually liked short for some reason or another.

And there was me. He'll be star, I said, he's too good and hungry to fall on the wayside. A great wrestler like him can work anywhere. For that I was laughed at and told that Elijah Burke was better. LOL!

Here we are in the midst of his second World Title run where he's the focal point of the best wrestling show on TV. A year plus of some of the best 5 minute TV matches you'll ever see leading up to him being the most interesting character in the WWE right now. He got no help and was jobbed at the worst times, yet still stayed over enough. Yep, not too bad for Mr. Brooks. Not bad at all. But then again, that much talent in one body always seems to rise above. JUST LIKE I SAID IT WOULD.

I raise this Pespi can for CM Punk. May he continue to prove haters, geeks and jealous wrestlers wrong.

EDIT: Most of the post is a joke, so don't get hung up on the insults if you still don't like him.

I didn't like him at first, but he has grown on me in a big way. I am really loving the slow heel turn and he is very fun to watch in the ring.

I liked him from the start but i think he could still use some high mid card fueds yet before more championship reigns. Maybe a IC Title fued with Rey after he loses the big belt

I'm hoping he beats Hardy and "injures" him, that would be a big start. Then he loses the belt to Undertaker at SummerSlam. After Hardy returns, or before if it's awhile, a I would love a feud with Rey.

I'm really not sure if the time between Hardy and Taker would be a good time for PPV match with Morrison. But I have no idea what would be.

          Re: CM Punk

When CM Punk debuted(I believe it was in the Hammerstein, which was brilliant), he reminded me of RVD because he had that cult following that followed him and would be enough to get him over, even with bad booking. Unlike RVD though, Punk is much better at adapting his style to the WWE style while keeping it fresh, oh, and he can work a mic. Which, IMO, is why he has succeeded much faster than Mr. Van Dam.

Up until a month ago, I would have said Punk's run in the WWE has been good, but unspectacular. This last month has been great though. The slow heel turn has been booked perfectly. He's finally getting mic time to get himself over. And his facial expressions throughout have been priceless lol. I swear he can tell a story without even saying a word.

I always felt he'd do good in the E. I just don't know if I expected it to go this well, especially this fast.

I'd like a triple threat at Night of Champions between Punk, Morrison, and Hardy...seeing as Morrison and Hardy both have arguments for competing for the title. Hardy hits the Swanton on Morrison, Punk throws Hardy out of the ring and picks up the scraps on Morrison to retain. Then Hardy and Punk can blow off their feud at Summerslam.

I hope they're not going to give us a Taker-Punk feud for the title at Summerslam. I like feuds with long-term buildup for Summerslam. Taker likely wouldn't even return until NOC or the SD after that...meaning a quick four week build.

I thought there was a PPV between NOC and SummerSlam for some reason. So yeah, this is better.

Don't need 'Taker messing up the chemistry on SD right now, just have him show up on Raw. No one will really question it. At first I figured Punk would get further faster in TNA and he probably would've. Untill the current state started taking over and now he'd be a jobber,a non-sensical heel or be holding a meaningless title. I still wanna see another Pepsi Plunge brought out.

Hell yeah. Me and you got all types of crap. My favorite was when someone said we only knew him from youtube. Or that he hadn't done anything...only days after he beat Booker on SmackDown. Hilarious times.

personally i think punk has really grown into someone that will be around for while...with him turning heel with the belt against near every one on SD its good cuz itll open the story up a lil more...plus it could bring matt hardy in the mix since jus getting acquired (even tho im not a fan)

I remember the first time I saw Punk was at a IWA Mid South show. I was impressed and followed him in ROH and then WWE. Glad to see he is doing well. The slow build heel turn has been really good. I wouldn't mind seeing him have a program with HHH at some point.

                            Re: CM Punk

CM Punk will be nothing more than "The Other Brands" Champion. they moved him from Raw because HHH was coming back , and Orton was again establishing himself as the next guy to carry the torch into the new era of wrestling.

face it, they have to keep him off the premier brands that HAVE the main event talent because he can never stack up against them.I enjoyed Punk when he was ECW champion, then when he became "the against all odds champion" on raw, his stock went down hill.

I know its all a show, but a main eventer that cant actually beat the world champion in a match, without cashing in a braifcase spells doubt.

Obviously you've missed Edge's gimmick over the last three-plus years.

I will agree that Punk's reign on Raw was kinda bad. But that was because he was rushed and poorly booked at that time. He was champ, but the WWE never put him as the focus.

His reign on Smackdown has been great though, thus far. He's brought the best out of Jeff Hardy. And his slow heel turn has been fun to watch.

Punk is still young. To say he'll always be "the B show's champ" is stupid. Orton's first reign was horrible. Yet five years later, he's one of the cornerstones of the company.

Punk is here for the long-term. He's only been with the company for three years, and already has won the WHC twice, IC title, tag titles, ECW title, and MITB twice. Plus he's probably taking the WHC into the second biggest PPV for the second straight year. Obviously they have big plans for Punk.
