Re: Ex-Rutgers QB Suing EA
I'm totally against Ryan Hart here, Ryan Neill who is also featured in these photographs if you select Rutgers as your Favorite Team should slap Hart across the head and tell him be happy he's connected to this, and that people will now recognize him. Just because he's stuck in the AFL2 and sadly won't amount to much unless every QB just randomly falls off the face of the earth doesn't mean he should be searching for some free money over a photograph...
However! If EA didn't clear this issue with the NCAA then there is some merit, but I'm in the boat he should be happy his face is there.Comment

Re: Ex-Rutgers QB Suing EA
Uh oh...Hopefully EA executives don't decide to just can the whole NCAA franchise. It has two lawsuits against it now and makes less money than Madden. If I was an executive I would start to think that maybe NCAA is more trouble than it's worth. HOPEFULLY, they don't think that, but I'm starting to get a little worried.Comment

He wont win this case.
This is pretty much like suing google because your picture came up as an image result of "a guy with a Rutgers shirt on".Comment

But...with photographs it's a complete likeness issue, if they don't get a release for these pictures then there is an issue...Comment

Re: Ex-Rutgers QB Suing EA
If that's the case it would be illegal to take a camera into any sporting event unless you had a Media Pass...Comment

Re: Ex-Rutgers QB Suing EA
The pictures are obtained from the schools and are provided to EA and many other otlets for various promotional uses. The images are the property of the institutions, not the athletes. Athletes at most schools have to sign releases to this effect.Comment
