Can I get an official word on this?
 

I know people have asked this question but I haven't seen Ian, Phil or anyone else officially address it.

Are the PS3 and 360 versions going to identical this year? I would like to know this because it's going to factor into my purchase decision.

I know there is....but I've never seen Ian posting in one with an answer. That was my goal here.

Actually dickdalewood, they're not identical as you can import custom plays from the PSP to the PS3. There must be some difference.

These are the only differences I know of:

- custom plays are PS3 exclusive (via PSP import)
- Framerate in replays is slightly less on PS3 than 360 (but FYI both are improved from last year...shouldn't see that no-spiral problem anymore)
- 360 hardware up-rezzes better to 1080 - PS3 actually looks slightly better in 720 than in 1080 because there are less jaggies (though the game is not rendered differently at all)
- Intro movie and Extra Point host videos are slightly better quality on PS3 (Blu-Ray advantage)

What are "jaggies"? So if you had PS3 you would play it on what format?

Jaggies is a term for the effect in a game where edges of elements - i.e. players, stadium, field - do not look very smooth.

I would stick with 720p on PS3 personally. Everything looks a little smoother and I don't really notice the resolution difference between the two (720 and 1080).

huh....i wondering the same thing. Looks like i'm going with the 360 version.
