Do you ever make athletes in your franchise?
You guys ever create players who are athletes but don't play in the NFL? I might create a guy like Usain Bolt because he's 6'5" and 190 lbs. I think it would be fun to make a guy like that and give him 99 speed and 99 accel with pretty much crap ratings for everything else. He could be a kick returner or something. I'm thinking I might create a few guys like that in my franchise. Anyone else?Tags: None -
Re: Do you ever make athletes in your franchise?
I do more people from movies. For madden 09 i created a few players from Necessary Roughness, Bobby Boucher from the Water Boy and Shane "Footsteps" Falco from The Replacements. I'm just weird i guess...

Champions Indoor Football - Sioux City Bandits 9-2

Re: Do you ever make athletes in your franchise?
I make NBA players, that were great at both basketball and football. I think I'm going to make Nate Robinson a DB for the Cowboys.
A 5'6, 175 DB with 99 speed, 99 agility, 99 acceleration and 99 jumping. LOL"Okay, here's the story. I come from the gutter. I know that. I got no education... but that's okay. I know the street, and I'm making all the right connections. With the right woman, there's no stopping me. I could go right to the top."

Re: Do you ever make athletes in your franchise?
I really think Dwight Howard could step in and be the best TE in the league after a season or two.
6-11, 265 lbs. Insane strength and jump. He'd be a ridiculously solid blocking and catching TE with just a little bit of technique. He'd probably be a real life rocket-catching machine. After all, it takes timing, leaping ability and solid hands to get as many rebounds as he does.Comment

Re: Do you ever make athletes in your franchise?
Only difference is, Nate was a starting D-1 DB at Washington. Only thing Dwight can do is Dunk. And he only get's so many rebounds, because he has a wing-span like Tyshaun Prince. Watch his highlights, he is not jumping that high, he just has long arms.
I'm not a big fan of him. He is overrated IMO!"Okay, here's the story. I come from the gutter. I know that. I got no education... but that's okay. I know the street, and I'm making all the right connections. With the right woman, there's no stopping me. I could go right to the top."

Re: Do you ever make athletes in your franchise?
I'll make him. But I don't if he should be WR or TE? The guy does run like a 4.5 forty.
OT: He is not fast enough in NBA 2K9!
Anyway, I think it's clear his speed will be between 93-99, 99 acceleration, 99 strength, 99 Jumping, 99 Hands, 99 stamina, 99 agility, 90-95 awareness."Okay, here's the story. Tall NBA players would be one-dimensional receiving TEs. You will always lose the leverage battle when you are 6'11".Comment

Re: Do you ever make athletes in your franchise?
Exactly. Not to mention they would be so exposed to rib breaking hits because of how big a target they are.
NBA players are amazing athletes but you can't just throw shoulder pads and a helmet on them and call them football players.Comment

Re: Do you ever make athletes in your franchise?
I'll bring in Yao Ming, all 7'6 of him to block FG's. He just has to put his hands up lol.
Shame max height in madden is only 6'10. That sucks.Comment

Re: Do you ever make athletes in your franchise?
Are you talking about Lebron? because, 99 strength and 99 agility? Are you kidding me... If you put him into the NFL right now would you call him one of the top 3 strongest or most agile?...I'll make him. But I don't if he should be WR or TE? The guy does run like a 4.5 forty.

Re: Do you ever make athletes in your franchise?
Now that would be funny. And yes, those ratings for LeBron or crazy. He wouldn't be that good. He'd be like Antonio Gates without the hands.Comment

I was judging from his basketball ability"Okay, here's the story. I come from the gutter. I know that. I got no education... but that's okay. I know the street, and I'm making all the right connections. With the right woman, there's no stopping me. I could go right to the top."

Re: Do you ever make athletes in your franchise?
oooh 99 strength. I though ratings were relative to position. I might be wrong. So a 99 WR wont be as strong as a 99 str OL.
Lebron is more like 95 str 95 agi 97 speed 99 jump imo.
He does have good hands, but what about his Catch in Traffic, Route running?Comment
