Hometowns/Pipeline States

I ran a forum search and didn't come up with an answer so maybe someone with the game can help me out.

In the teambuilder edit roster screen there is no place to specify a players home state. Does this mean that if I start a California school with the UNLV roster template that my pipleline states will be the same as UNLVs?
