:31 seconds in, we see the RC animation. All users have to do is come off their route and trigger this animation early, and we have another year of crappy online gaming.

Hopefully something can be done about this in a patch.

And before anyone even says, "Gah! I'm tired of people complaining about the rocket catch", etc, etc. Known exploits like the RC should not continue to go by untouched. Sure, no game is perfect. Every game will have exploits. But known exploits like this should be taken care of regardless. If you don't do an annual sweep of these kinds of things, the bugs and glitches will build and build on top of each other, giving us another Madden 09, which I am sure most of us do not want.

Im trying to hold myself back from saying something that really crosses the line. But wtf, that is no rc.......Are you talking about the pick? It was just the defender strafing then a pick.....get your facts correct b4 posting something that could cause such an outroar.....gosh

The animation he uses is the same animation WR's use to pull off the Rocket Catch.

all I saw was a defender jump up to catch a Hail Mary pass that was well short of its intended target.

But thats an INT not an offensive catch. I really don't know much about the RC at all, but I don't see how this video says anything.

I missed it...didn't see a rocket catch, only the defender jumping up and picking the pass.

The RC animation is shown in the Madden 10 vid. Players in Madden 09 would use this animation for easy catches/gains. Look at both videos. The animation is still there.

I understand its the same animation, but that animation is the jump animation. You can't remove that, unless you no longer want to have the ability for jump balls or have a receiver/defender jump to catch a high pass.

RC was non-defendable because DB's wouldn't go up to defend the pass, but judging from one of the videos(AFC North Preview maybe) the defense will now jump with a receiver and knock the ball away. I recall seeing Polamalu doing this in the vid that I'm recalling.

No it isn't. He made an INT that you can see every week in the NFL or CFB.

You need to understand the concept of rocket catch.

That was not a rocket catch, but a nicely timed jump while strafing on defense. You see that all the time in the NFL, when defenders strafe and line up a jump to catch the ball. It isn't cheap and it isn't a rocket catch.

I'm sure you can do that on offense as well, when your in the endzone you can most likely line up your receiver and catch the ball. I don't see why not, I've seen Larry Fitzgerald, Sidney Rice and Randy Moss perform that move a lot. But, that's not rocket catching.

Rocket catching was throwing the ball and the wide receiver immediately turning around and performing the animation without trouble so the defender has no chance of making a play.

The animation wasn't / isn't the problem, it was how fast and unrealistic it occurred. So I'm sorry, but that wasn't a rocket catch.
