    T.J. Hoosh says he'll boycott Madden 10

"I understand I averaged 10 yards a catch, but it's the offense, not me," Houshmandzadeh said, via Mike Sando of ESPN.com. "I'm not playing Madden no more until they get my rating right. . . . I used to be the best in the world at Madden. I'm going to miss not playing it, but until they do me right, I'm not playing it any more."

he has a 91 overall in madden and he is complaining...boooooo...

Well to be honest the guys they have rated higher than him are actually better than him so his rating is fair.

Didn't he head to Seattle? Looks like the Pacific North-West Curse of Irrelevance has already been set in motion, and he hasn't even played a game yet! Pity the poor guy.

        This is Donny's fault...

Deangelo Hall complained to Donny on twitter that his 61 (?- can't remember now) rating was too low and got a 18 point raise to 79.

Tory Holt complained about his rating on twitter and Donny gave him a completely inflated 84 rating.

Im gonna open a fake Ben Leber twitter account and pester him for a 20 point boost.

T.J. rating is a little too high as it is already, 91??, don't know about that. Donny shouldn't listen to these NFL players crying about there ratings.

I would like Donny to comment on this about giving ratings boost to players that complained. I sure hope this is not true. If so then I lose alot of respect for him to let these NFL guys push him around over a damn game ratings. These guys should be concerned with what they are doing on the field.

                Technically, TJ is right.

These ratings don't really reflect a players ability - they reflect his success, which is determined by many different factors - most of which are not even in their own control.

These things can hurt a WR's performance, to which he has no control over:

                1. Bad quarterback
                2. Bad offense/system
                3. Bad playcalling
                4. Poor play execution by other players
                5. Poor blocking resulting in your QB getting killed and unable to deliver the ball
                6. Poor coaching
                7. Bad referee calls or dumb penalties by OTHER players costing you a big play
                8. Overpowering defense/coverage/zone (basically playing to stop the pass)
                9. Bad players on your own team
                10. Bad weather

Now, taking all that into consideration, is it really fair to give low ratings to a player who may be very talented but is surrounded by incompetent players?

                No.

Madden ratings are based on individual success/production, not based on actual ability.

                    Yet another crybaby WR. Shocker.

What does that bring the total up to now?

He's not going to play Madden because he feels they didn't get his rating right? What rating does he actually think he deserves? Let me guess: 99, 98? And I'm sure this rating would have no effect on him playing as himself considering he'd most likely throw it to himself all the time anyways.

When that is all he has to complain about I don't have any pity for him.

I bet he isn't worrying about paying medical bills... or any bills. What a tool.

I think he's complaining that his rating is too high, which is odd, but at least it's not the other way around which would be even more annoying coming from a wide receiver.

Well let's see... divide by two, carry the seven...

Please dear god let this not be true. If the devs inflate ratings to keep cry baby NFL players happy, I'm going to be pretty angry. The stretched rating system has been one of those great new editions to the game and I'd hate to see them compromising it to make grown man children happy.
