So at the end of the day, Madden is still broken.

after reading all of the previews for the game, and hands on, and seeing the videos, it seems madden is still what most of us expected: a broken game

its strange, but for ea to make a NOMINALLY working football game, they dont need to worry about the sidelines, or the cleat colors, or the realistic hand towel physics, but the actual gameplay physics.

i think that dynamic physics are the future of gaming, but so far, all football games have had a standard animated engine. i just dont see madden being a major improvement if its still using canned animations. everything just looks off... we know real physics in a football game is a possibility, but we have yet to see it implemented into madden...

And after reading this thread, I conclude that it fails.

I think you're about a month too early for this. Expect to see more of these threads a couple of weeks after the release; after the whole "omg, this is the best madden evar!" "omg Ian, you guys did a great job!!!."

Just for reference, try to research threads from about a year ago, even 2 years ago. They all follow the same format: 1-2 months before release naysayers talk about how they don't like what they're seeing in the vids, and how they think that EA is using gimmicks to cover up the same gameplay problems that have been plaguing Madden for years. After the first couple of weeks, you get the threads saying "Is this the last Madden you buy?" or "Are you done with Madden?"

            Every year it's the same.

Looks like your command of the English language is broken.

Everything I've seen and read about Madden 10 has been positive.

This is just somebody trying to advertise Backbreaker as the future of gaming. He's saying that Madden is still a broken game because it doesn't have what Backbreaker has.

The only problem with that is that the Backbreaker (possible) franchise never made it to the shelves yet compared to Madden's nearly 21 years of existence.

we have yet to see "real physics" in any football game that has released, and to my knowledge, sports game in general.

And calling it "broken" because it doesn't have a "real physics engine"? Really?
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

Hmmmm... so the OP's user name is nm 1043. I wonder why someone with the name nm1043 would claim that Madden 10 is broken.

At one point does one stop and say, "You know what, I have become a free whore for a video game developer."
I am a franchise guy. And for me, and many like me, an authentic NFL simulation experience is what we want, not just another video game that happens to be about American football.

RIP Steve. You will always be my Hero.

this is gonna be my first and last response in this thread...

                              a) its a joke regarding another thread about backbreaker...

                              b) the nm = my initials, not natural motion

                              c) the physics are the basics... as in momentum, weight, power, etc... all things excessively important in football... and since they arent done right in madden, i would call the game broken, yes
