Well it answered one of my questions, you're judged more on team performance and what you do with your drafting/trading than you are on the goals task list. Which is a big relief and how it should be done.

This mode is pure brilliance. The icing on the cake for me will depend on the depth of contracts (Hopefully there will be RFAs and Arbitration).

"Be a GM" mode goes out 25 years. See you guys in divorce court.

I haven't heard anything about this yet, but with supposedly building through the draft being your best choice...I'm hoping they have cpu generated faces for NHL '10'.

It's not a huge deal to me, but the blacked out silhouettes are kind of a drag. Can't wait till 9/15.

Anyone know if the number of games in a season is customizable cause if I have to play 82 I'll never make it out of the 1st season

I have no idea. But if it's 82, I'll probably sim about 75% of the games.

And having far less time as a married man with 2 kids, this is when all sports developers have to start allowing saves transfer from one year to the next.

It took me all 12 months just to get my BAP and Dynasty into year 3 before NHL10 comes out. I hate starting over again.

I'm married with two kids but I'm lucky enough to be off work for 4 days a week...so when the kids go to bed...its game time.

I never sim and nothing but 82 games will do for me.

My problem is I hate to sim and I don't have time to play 82 games. I love franchise modes but I never get to fully use them and that sucks. I asked for this before and I'll ask again... Can we please have customizable season lengths in franchise mode ? 20/40/82 game seasons. Come on EA you spent all this time on GM mode don't you want everyone to be able to fully use it? Wow, I'd be able to play at least 4 seasons if I could set it to 20 games.

I was hoping to hear something about an option to chose a shorter regular season too. I've seen nothing on this to this point...so I'm assuming that won't be an option again this year.

I'm also a family man. It is tough to find the time to play an 82 game season...and I hate simming. The stats mean nothing to me after doing that. They [EA] did mention how they are aware some gamers don't wish to play the full 82 game season. But for me....that doesn't mean I want a playoff birth just given to me [playoff mode]. It's a nice option no question. But I'd still prefer to earn a playoff spot with a shorten regular season option.

I don't mean to complain too much, because I love the NHL game. But as an example...I like what I'm hearing about the "Be a GM" mode. It sounds like dynasty mode will be much deeper and more involved...which is great. But I hate to think I'll end up button mashing through it, because I just don't have the time to completely enjoy it.

The bottom line for me is...play an 82 game season, and maybe get through 3 to 5 seasons tops. Or sim which I hate to do...or be given the option for a shorten season and enjoy several seasons of this very enjoyable game.
