The shoe-string tackle has GOT to GO

This is frickin ridiculous. Seriously. If you have a fast WR and you catch a slant, nine times outta ten the DB will shoe string tackle you.

I can deal with it there. But when I have a fast QB, and I break around the corner, and all of a sudden a DE who is 5 yds away breaks from his block and somehow show string tackles me 5 yds(aka 15ft) away is mind numbing and makes me so mad. Its just stupid.

It is annoying. Just need to be used when it's in a realistic situation

Yeah, the computer always tackles in the most annoying ways. On the PS2, there are way to many horsecollar tackles and way to many tackles where all the computer player does is push your guy and he falls down. Another thing that really annoys me is when I get called for roughing the passer when the computer QB passes then starts walking forward and walks into one of my linemen who is just standing there and then falls down.

In my RTG with a Qb i was a scrambler with Air Force, had a 96 speed with boosted stats on average, none the less 7 times out of 10 i would get run down while scrambling around the outside by a DE with a shoe string tackle, Drives me up the wall. i could deal if they had a solid persuit angle, but most the time, they trail me and some how close the gap. Sad.

i can't tell you how many times I could've busted a big run only to be stopped at the LOS by a cheapo shoe string tackle by some slow poke DE. 9 times out of 10 its not a realistic shoe string tackle, I've noticed the frequency of those types of tackles increasing as well. It's annoying.

I disagree. I really like it. You see guys tripped up in real games all the time. Not with the frequency we see in NCAA 10, true, but the shoestring animation is a good proxy for all the other animations that are missing, IMO.
Quit making your stupid YouTube videos and start playing the game.

No you don't. At least not in the situations it occurs in this game.

Watch some real football and count how many times running QB's are shoe string tackled by a DE 15 ft away.

i can deal with the shoestring tackles, my problem is this, "Why does every hit from every angle is a BIG HIT?" i hate it when i play the a.i. because no matter what, i know im gonna get laid out on almost every running play, its been like that for a while now, and i just hate it

How often can the bug be reproduced? That's a question for the developers...I'm not testing this for them...

The O has "PLENTY" of fire power and the slant is a money play; so if your defender wasn't out of his zone all the time or behind the receiver when your in man, I don't see the problem. The D needs a chance in this game its not always about the O. Plus the tackle button is half of wut it used to be, it all seems fair, this issue is least of my concerns when were talking about things in ncaa that "got to go".

Yeah, i cant tell you how many times this has happened to me.. Its sorry!

I certainly think the "Shoe String" tackle should have a 25% chance to even be stumble you, and when you do get caught up by one, you should be able to Stumble recover.

I honestly didn't even realize I was reading a thread from 2009 until the post about NCAA 10.

Wow, neither did I. The shoe string tackle is prominent this year also, apparently.
