This was an area the CPU struggled in last year as well. I would note this seems to be a problem regardless of difficulty level as I have seen it on Varsity, All-American and Heisman.

HB screens killing CPU drives
It seems that the CPU likes to run this play often just like last year, unfortunately it results in a sack for me 95% of the time . This play alone is making the CPU less of challange is some games. I have had a couple of games that should have been close turn into blowouts simply because of getting sacks on screens to kill CPU drives.

Re: HB screens killing CPU drives
I've noticed that the CPU screen seems to work a bit better on Varisty. Could be wrong, though.
The problem, in my opinion, is that there's no way for the QB to throw the ball at the receiver's feet or whatever when the defense diagnoses the play.Quit making your stupid YouTube videos and start playing the game. -
Re: HB screens killing CPU drives
^^^Unfortunately I just finished a game on Varsity not too long ago using sliders similar to Playmakers and the problem was just as bad. I sacked FSU 4 or 5 times on hb slip screens, 3 of those essentially killed drives. I won as Florida 27-9 despite the yards being almost identical for each team mainly due to this issue. Should have been a closer game. FSU was actually gashing me pretty well with the run and then here would come the hb screen to kill their drives.
I 100 % agree with your second point.Last edited by mgoblue678; 08-09-2009, 10:05 PM.My Teams

Re: HB screens killing CPU drives
Certain screens the CPU QB simply holds thhe ball too long. On the other hand, those same plays the human has to sprint button in his drop or he gets sacked too. Some of the screens just aren't programmed correctly.Comment

The slip screens take forever to develop. I hope they don't have them in Madden this year.Dedicated Madden Football League (PS3)

Re: HB screens killing CPU drives
I do, i get tons of sacks when the CPU tries a HB Screen. If i dont manage to get a sack then im always able to hit the RB right when he catches it. The CPU's decision making is killing the game for me.Comment

Re: HB screens killing CPU drives
I agree the CPU screens are absolute drive killers. They end up in a sack and 5-10 yard loss 95% of the time. Something I hope they can fix with the gameplay patch.Comment

Re: HB screens killing CPU drives
When I play the CPU, its all or nothing on the HB screens.
It's either a sack(most of the time) or he gets 50 yards on it(rarely).
Not to mention how often the CPU runs this play. It's ridiculous.Huskers | Chelsea FC | Minnesota United | OmahaComment
