Madden Impressions

Hey everyone,

We are going to go a different direction for Madden impressions for a little while, and see how it works.

We are going to allow impressions to be posted in the main Madden forum, not confined to one thread. There a couple of caveats:

• Please don't post your "person review" in the forums. We do appreciate your opinion, but if you want to post a full review, use your personal arena and blog utilities, then link it in your signature.
• For specific issues - try to use the search feature, or at least scan the first couple of pages. I will attempt to edit the amount of threads that show up per page to make this easier on everyone.
• Be constructive and understanding. The developers are not going to answer every thread, but they don't miss reading many. When you are constructive, it's easier for them to listen and work on something. When you aren't constructive, and just be condescending to up your "e-cred", you come off looking like annoying and just like a jerk.

So, go for it guys. I know this is something a lot of you have been waiting for, and hopefully this 'test' goes well.

Oh, and by the way, a little tip -

When asking questions, post your gameplay level and any other "user option" you may have changed. It makes it INFINITELY easier to help you if we know where you stand with the game.

I'm wondering if anyone has heard anything about the lack of QB voices in the game......I'm playing with the Colts and the generic cadence is a bother...only because they've gotten away from the player/team specific ones. Maybe a patch to follow????

Speaking of voices. The player chatter on the field in my opinion doesn't stand out like it did last year.

Whatever happened to "run run fast as you can, cant get away from the ginger bread man" type of lines, lol.

I'll be listening closely, maybe I haven't played enough games yet, but so far its not as good as last year in that area.

Correct my if I'm wrong.

Yeah I agree with you on the QB voices. I played with the Panthers and Jake Delhomme sounded like some hick. One of the main reasons I liked the next gen versions of Madden was because of this cool little feature. Hopefully EA doesn't pitch the "with all new QB voices, never done before" line for Madden 11. :wink:

Just started a franchise with the Jets. Initially played the Rams on Pro level and beat them up pretty good 28 to 7. I decided to play the Ravens on All-Pro and lost 17 to 7. I enjoyed both games but the Ravens' game was more challenging and exciting (of course).

360
Had a franchise with the Detroit Lions on All-Pro that was very frustrating as I could not stop either Atlanta or Cleveland.

It lead me to wondering if the game was more difficult on the 360 (I know placebo effect) but then I recognize I have to take into account the caliber of teams. Which leads to my conclusion and hope that team differences really matter. I have heard quite a few people say the player ratings and team ratings matter if this proves to be so then this will be the Madden I have been wishing for.

Both systems games so far look almost identical. For some reason I am enjoying the gameplay on the PS3 more. It was usually the reverse for me.

I just run the most gorgeous screen pass EVER! I'm the raiders playing against the chargers 3rd and five Jemarcus drops back pumps toward the middle of the field a dl stops and jumps at the fake the defense also reacts and their focus is now on the middle of the field DMC as well as all three of my ol get a good release Jemacus floats a pass over to DMC in the flat I have my three ol and a db an lb and a ss in front I'm not sure if it makes a dif but I keep my finger off sprint of purpose and it works as DMC weaves between the defenders pick up by my ol and sees nothing but green in front of him I hit the sprint button and he takes off it looks like the other ss might have the angle but ur not catching DMC and 62 yds later u see DMC leap into the endzone but of course the play was to long so all u see in the replay is DMC running away from everyone This is on all madden people another time I pump faked the ss takes the bait and Russell drops a pass into heyward bey for a forty seven yd td bey drops alot of passes but is electric when he catches it Namdi is a beast qbs rarely throw at him gates is a beast every play I'm shadowing him with my ss bc my lbs can't check him LT seems like he is about to break o e everytime he touches the ball but has a workhorse 22 carries for 78 yds I ended up losing 20-17

Does anyone notice how fun it is to use a power back? I was playing with the Browns earlier, and using Jamal Lewis was a blast...

Any chance we can get an update to Coach mode so kicking can be automatic as well? Add this with the broadcast cam and you've made another segment of your customer set very happy! When we coach, we just want to call the plays...that's it.

Also, the game does seem to move at warp speed taking into account all the cut scenes. No view of teams huddling, etc. I think some of the atmosphere gets taken away. I feel like the game is rushing me to complete.

I play the PS3 version with custom sliders.

I don't know how constructive this is. I mean it to be I swear lol. I just was thinking. EA says the listen to their client base. And us as a Madden community and fans of this game post our impressions and complaints or whatever at nauseum and are right most of the time. These forums are set up for just that and we say the things we want fixed etc. We do this every year and the same things are said every year. The reality this is the same madden game with a shiny new polish on it like every other madden game before it. It has all the same problems. Why are we wasting our time? Insanity is doing the same things over and over and expecting different results. I would be insane to post the same things I have every year here. We now have two Madden impression threads.

I Don't know if this issue was brought up already, But if I put a player on injured reserve, and then try to sign a player to replace them there's a messege that says I don't have enough room on my roster. I have to questions to follow, can this be addressed via patch and will it be addressed.

Franchise no longer has a "player interest meter". Now there is no way of knowing if a player has any interest in signing with you and it is all guess and check when offering contracts. There is also no player moral so I can't tell if a player even would resign with me or if I should trade them. This STINKS, and needs to come back!
