Wait for a patch. Doubt it will be in the first one, as it's been said the 2nd one will be the "meat and potatoes" fix.

Can play more zone or use velcro coverage.

I mean it is easy for me to pass in the flats. I think I can right down the field with passes to the flats and nothing else.

Then don't do it. Also, there are about a thousand other posts on this topic.

Mods, how about a sticky on that big thread? This is a big issue!

I don't use a flats pass very much. I prefer screens, outs, and slants, but this still needs to be fixed

Who is effective and why are you passing to him?

I've played 4 or 5 games, and I've seen the flats defended just fine... Cover 3 zone for example.. or cover 2 zone...

Are you saying man coverage doesn't defend the flats well?

Re: Passes in the FLATS to effective

I find passing into the flats much more difficult in the new game vs previous playable editions of Madden (ie, the first three on the PS3 are excluded). In PS2 games, the pass to the flat was automatic. This year, it works for good yards about a third of the time, very short yards a third, and incomplete a third, in my experience. To me, the passing game is much more difficult on All Pro than in most past versions.

                        That doesn't work.
For whatever reason, the corners and linebackers are stunned during any flat pass.

For whatever reason, playmaking defensive ends to the flat works better, but that's a big-time speed disadvantage in coverage.

I don't know man. In my past 2 games I have gotten 5 interceptions with a Cover 2 Base defense from people throwing to Westbrook in the flats. I haven't been having a problem with it.

That is not entirely correct. The pass to the flat on PS2 was "automatic' if you had a LBer on a HB with the BnR assignment. Could be the same case in M10.

Well a CB in cover 2 will first bump the WR... and the problem is that it seems as if they bump as they would for man coverage, so you could potentially sneak a pass to the flats by them while they're still busy bumping. They should be more aware and play it a bit differently... don't bump the Wr as if it was man to man, just clip the WR on your way to the flat...

Playmakering a DB or a LBer to play the flat works better becasue he doesn't have to deal with anyone, he just goes there. Same with a safety.

Never thought of playmakering DB or LB to the flat. Thanks for the idea.
