In-Air tackles are just disgusting

Defy Physics Completely. Now most of the animations in this game are top-notch but EA seriously needs to tweak the In-air tackles.

Everybody should know what I'm talking about as it happens at least once a game, Usually the receiver would be coming down and the defender about to jump and then suddenly the receivers body sticks on with the defender and they both go up then down. IT'S AN EYESORE.

Props for them trying to emulate a David Tyree Moment in the game but it needs to be tuned so it doesn't happen everytime two opposing players are in the air. Their bodies just latch on togeter and do one of those in-air jumps. Defies Simulation.

The animation your speaking about, plus the jumping WR flip, and the over the shoulder catch just show how little variety this game has sometimes.

Well atleast those animations look realistic for the most part. I don't mind over-abuse of animation (Which I don't think this game does) as long as it's realistic. The In-Air-Latch-On-Tackles are nowhere near realistic

I don't mind them. The only one that I can't stand is the DB/LB running full speed, jumping off one foot, one arm swat, superman animation. I can't stand that one. I thought it was supposed to be removed but, it happens way to often.

I comepletely agree with LIVED on this. The first time I saw that air tackle, I quickly replayed it so I could see it in slow motion. It's very bad and extremely fake, also imposible..

I agree 100% this is absolutely terrible.. i was hoping these mid-air tackles wouldn't be in the game this year but the first game i played the db jumped to swat the ball and somehow did a complete 180 in mid-air and tackled the wr...

So long as they fix the human oline blocking and fix the human pass rush then I am fine with the in air tackles. I can live with them for this year. This is not one of these game killers.

Its not good, but not unbelievable like last year. Where the dude got a jetpack and hitsticked in mid-air after a swat.

Agree. I read the devs reasoning for this a while back, but it just doesn't cut it. Last gen went pretty well without these animations.

I disagree... Most the in air tackles look decently realistic to me, eh well maybe over 10 years of watching football and over 20 years of having eyesight doesnt qualify me ... Really just the lack of variety in the animations is what I noticed... I guarantee theres under 10 animations for that situation and probably only 5 that actually get animated..

I agree there's a shortage of Animations for the Jump-offs therefore the "Jet-Pack-Latch-on" gets used often.

Believe me, you haven't seen the actual Tackle if you think it's realistic. The player suddenly thrust upwards while on his way down.

Or how about the lame animation where the receiver flips head over heels from a defender? Happens at least 3-4 times a game. Most of the time the momentum that causes it shouldn't have, because it wasn't there. it just animates it to animate it.
