    Playoff in NCAA 11?

Would anyone want this option? You don't have the difficulties of planning around finals like in real life, so it would be pretty easy to implement.

    Also, how many teams?

We'll never see it in a NCAA game sadly.

I'd love to have it in the Play Now area, just for ****s and giggles.

It would be great to have the NCAA Division 1 football tournament in the game. This year it will again be 16 teams, but in 2010 it will be a 20 team tournament as two more conferences are getting automatic bids. And in any NCAA championship event you have to have at least as many at-large bids as automatic bids.

Did you know that since they started seeding teams in what is now the NCAA Division 1 Football tournament, the #1 and #2 seeds have never both made it to the final to play each other?

I really don't think the EA team has a choice when it comes to this. The NCAA, and NFL for Madden, have a lot of veto power in certain areas of their licensed games. If the NCAA doesn't want playoffs in the game, it won't be in the game.

The NCAA would be in favor of playoffs as the NCAA would get more of the revenue generated. The current situation that exists, largely in part due to a court ruling years ago that allows conferences to negotiate their own television contracts, keeps the vast majority of the money in the BCS and not distributed throughout the NCAA like the basketball tournaments.

The BCS licensing may be the driving force to keep playoffs out of the game, but not likely the NCAA.

back on the ps one ncaa had a playoff option, of course this was way before the bcs and the exclusive licensing bs so maybe that has something to do with it

think it was like 8 teams.

it wasnt that great in my opinion I played some ****ty school like duke for the natioinal title or something to that regard.

NCAA '98 had the option to play a tournament at the end of thr season. It was a 16-team tournament. There was also a tournament mode that you could play without having to go through a season, like if your friends over or something like that.

Now don't forget that in '98 there was only 4 bowl games at the end of the season, so you needed to win your conference or finish in the top 10 to possibly make one of these bowls.

And this was the game with Danny Wuerffel on the cover.

                  Pre-BCS

There will never be a playoff option in NCAA as long as the BCS is involved in the sport.

You do realize that if the NCAA wanted playoffs, the NCAA would have playoffs, right? The school presidents, who run the NCAA, don't want them.

Put it in the game and let the user choose between a playoff system or a bowl system (BCS). I think the NCAA needs a playoff system. Too many teams get screwed under the system in place now.

idk why everybody think the playoff will solve everything

you know if they go to 8 team playoff that the 9 & 10 teams will have a beef

theres always gona be somebody left in the cold complaining

thats a reason why ncaa football week to week is better than nfl.. if an nfl team loses a game here or there=no big deal.. ncaa team loses a game=could be deciding factor in a championship

the way they do it now is fine.. thumbs up BCS

A playoff provides closure, we'll never know if 2008 Utah, USC, or Texas could have beaten Florida because they never played the games.

I'm for it. Would be nice to get a little glimpse of how EA would do this..would be a nice option as well.
