Roster Updates for MLB the Show 08 (8-19-09)

I just thought I'd post my roster file for anyone who is interested. It's not as in depth as some, as I haven't got every minor league player updated. But it does have Baseball America's top 50 prospects (with at least an A or B rating).

The game is now a couple years old, so the Free Agent pool has grown beyond capacity, therefore some players who have been designated for assignment are still on their respective teams in the minors. Do with them what you will. I have most trades up to the "Pudge" Rodriguez move, although the lineups do not take into consideration current health. Therefore Jake Peavy is in the starting rotation for the White Sox, etc. and some players who have fallen from grace are still ranked quite high.

I haven't added the new draft class signings yet, as I usually do it through franchise draft, but when I get around to adding them, I'll post it again. I hope there are no huge mistakes, but please point them out if you can.

This is for MLB 08, not 09.

Yeah, I wanted to point that out too. It's for '08 the Show, but if someone has a superb '08 file out there even better than mine then I'd happily replace mine. It's just that most people are invested in '09 now.

I live in Europe, and strangely they don't usually carry MLB games in the stores! Their loss. So I'm stuck updating the older one. If someone else is still using '08, then hopefully they can use this one. Or better yet, improve it and post it again for me!

Thanks for updating the rosters. I just got a PS3 and got 08 instead of 09. I'll be getting my PS3 at the end of the week and I will be sure to use your rosters and check for any mistakes you made. Thanks again for taking the time to update the rosters.

Save the file then unzip it (use winzip its free). copy the unzipped file to a flash drive. plug the flash drive into your ps3 and go into saved Saved Data utility and copy the file onto your 08 data. go into the game and load the roster.

Thanks cmew for the work. Ive been a long time lurker and registered for this file. Are there any other files for the 08 version like old time rosters or fantasy rosters? Thanks again.

Excellent roster file man! Too bad you can't even play online in MLB 08 anymore. ( Let alone download there old roster updates) I usually manually do the rosters myself, but nice work! Now I'm going to start my first Road to the Show!

You wouldn't happen to have the final official roster update to upload would you? I recently got the game and I'm a Phillies fan and I want to play with the 08 World Series roster.
