Surprising gems found in your 'Chise

Hey guys, thought i'd start a thread asking if anyones found some true talent on their current chise.

I started one with Baltimore, I traded a 1st and 3rd round pick and Kelly Gregg to Denver for Brandon Marshall and Elvis Dumervil.

I converted Trevor Pryce over to Defensive tackle and rotate Jarrett Johnson and Dumervil at LDE (i changed their position), so far JJ is leading the lead in sacks after 7 games (with 11). I also found if you change JJ to a DT he becomes 90 overall with A potential, so i reckon i'll sign him up to a long term deal after the season then switch him to DT and see how he goes.

So found any gems on your roster or in the free agent list?

Re: Surprising gems found in your 'Chise

After going 13-3 and demolishing all my playoff opponents, I started to downsize my roster to clear up some cap space for draft picks and potential free agents in the off season. Turns out only my top 2 picks stayed while the rest got cut. I decided that my WR needed someone new, i traded javon walker and some other guys for a draft pick, and also managed to find Santana Moss in the Free Agency pool. So this means that DHB + Moss = Great year for russel. After 4 games I'm 1-3..***ssel was struggling terribly, so i brought in a recently signed Alex Smith, he had an OK game but still lost. I blame most of it on poor o line play and me.

traded for lesean mccoy and he's been a beast for me. also picked up free agent henry melton (59ovr) and he has 7 sacks in 8 games. could probably have more if I controlled him every play. lol
Sammie lee hill has also played extremelyy well for his 61 rating I think. something like 5 sacks and tons of tackles in the backfield.

Traded a Second Round Pick, Troy Smith and Demetrius Williams for Brandon Marshall....... Flacco is wacko for his receivers M&M....
Marshall and Mason. Love it when a plan comes together.

THANK YOU. A realistic trade!!!! I'm sick of hearing people who trade for Matthew Stafford and the like.

I thought my trade for Marshall was realistic. Totally agree on m&m too, Flacco is messing up secondaries with those guys, throw in heap and Clayton and the passing game becomes lethal.

Thank you Censor.. I try to stay realistic with it. I feel like Troy is underrated and the height thing is irrelevant. Don't get me wrong, D Will is my man 50 grand 4 real but If I can bring in a B.Marshall and send Troy somewhere he could possibly start, then I feel like I'm looking out for Troy and getting what The Ravens truly need to upgrade the passing game.

I appreciate the love Censor.... it's important to do things as you might do it in real life. I know it's easier to take chances when it quote "Ain't your money and picks to play around with" but again I try to keep it realistic as possible.

When I started my Browns chise, the first thing I did was trade Braylon Edwards to the Giants for Clint Sintim, a 1st, and a 3rd. Sintim's started every game at LOLB since, and he's been a very solid contributer. And finally after like 3 seasons, I finally got a good WR corps again, with Robiskie developing and a rookie coming into his own.

Couple of gems, I drafted a 63 overall with D potential at RG that has amazing run block and pass block (no idea how he came out to a 63) but he's been a very good backup for me. And I drafted a CB that was 78 overall with only C potential (with the #3 pick, so that kinda hurt), but I gave him a chance as my #2 CB and he actually made the Pro Bowl, my first defensive back to do so. Of course he didn't go up in overall, but I was still impressed.

Only thing is I don't think The Browns would trade Braylon Edwards realistically.... but for a 1st and a 3rd I'm pretty sure they would at listen to the proposal. I thoght the Browns had pretty good Linebackers my friend. Is Clint Sintim a pick up of personal preference?

Tom Zbikowski - Got him as an afterthought in a trade with the Ravens, put him in as back up SS, and BU at both OLB's ... finished the season with 105 tackles, 5 picks, 3 FF's, 3 sacks... 2nd in the NFL for DB of the year and a pro bowl. He is a BEAST, and even after that season he still has not topped the 70+ overall, he is only 69.

In my first off season of my Bills Franchise I needed O-line help so I traded

DT John McCargo (74 overall), the 27th pick of the 2nd Round and the 27th pick of the 4th round

                          to the Bucs for

RG Jeremy Zuttah (82 overall), the 4th pick in the 3rd round and the 4 pick in the 6th round.

On a side note, I have a "house rule" of only trading for players on the block, which he was.

Travis Beckum is a 69 ovr TE on the Giants. When put at the WR spot he jumps to a 76 rating. I have him as my #1 receiver, Nicks at #2, and Steve Smith as my slot. He's a great wideout and I love putting at the TE spot to take advantage of the linebackers

Ratings wise, Clint Sintim is a DeMarcus Ware is the making. Great speed and Pass rush. I have him playing behind Danny CLark for a year until his awareness gets up alittle more. I always substitute him for blitzes
