serious hypothetical response: I'd realize that even if the waiter was right there discussing people's orders with them, a lot of them would complain they were spending too much time talking and not enough time doing and so the waiter can't win anyway.Comment

If by vacation you mean..... the media clamp was put on him by the EA marketing department 2 weeks before release, then yes, you are right.
Why do you think he blatantly didn't answer ANY MAJOR question concerning the demo issues? (which did in fact make it to release).
Because the suits didn't want to lose any sales.... DUH!
I will speak the truth for Ian right now, because he will NEVER be able to speak freely. Here goes:
"Guys, I am terribly sorry that we couldn't deliver what we promised. Unfortunately, most of these major issues in the game, such as blocking, WR interaction etc, are just beyond the scope of what we can fix. The reason for this is that we have limited resources and time to address these issues, while at the same time, meet the expectations for new features that are a priority for our marketing and sales strategy. Again, I am terribly sorry for this, because I wish I could have a few years to start from scratch on this game. I wish I could also bring in real football people to work with us on this game. If we had those resources and time, I would deliver the best football game you have ever played, and it would be the most realistic expereince of all time."Comment
