Detroit Lions Franchise (Madden 10)

This is my first time doing one of these so it might not be great. I decided to take the worst team and try to build them into a powerhouse. I'll sim the first season so I can build through the draft. I won't be doing any fancy writing like some of you guys, I'll be doing more of a recap of each game like how MrNFL_FanIQ does his 49ers HC one. Lions are a very tough team so I'm thinking it'll take me 2-3 years for a playoff birth, though we play in a weak division. I'll be posting the results of the simmed season in a bit. After that I'll be doing the draft and then start the next season where I'll be playing every game on All-Madden, 11 minute quarters, 15 second acceleration clock.

Lol same result as last year. About to start the off-season, already know who I want. I don't like Stafford or Kevin Smith so they're going to get replaced. I need some big help on the O-line and DB's so I'll try to find someone in the mid-rounds.

Re: Detroit Lions Franchise (Madden 10)

I only resigned like 2 guys (A DT and I can't remember the other guy). Signed a new FB (M. Tolbert) from FA, and that's it. I'm going to rebuild through the draft. I believe I have the 5th overall pick.

Traded my 5th overall pick to the Bears for the 10th overall 1st round pick, 3rd round, and 4th.

1st round pick, 10th overall I chose QB Dane Morrow to replace Stafford.
5th pick of the 2nd round I chose MLB Mack Jackson.

I traded the Bears 3rd and 4th round picks and HB A.Brown to the Bengals for their 2nd round pick (20th pick of the 2nd round)
With the Bengals pick I picked up RG Patrick Boma.

I traded the 5th pick of the 3rd round to the Texans for the 13th pick of the 3rd and 4th rounds.
With the 13th pick of the 3rd round I took a reach and drafted Jamarion Bellows.

I traded Culpepper to the Bears for the 10th pick of the 5th round.
Much to my surprise Jake Scott who has the diagram thing full on almost everything is still available, I'll draft him as a back-up to Dane.

With the 13th pick of the 4th round I chose Leron since he has the diagram thing pretty high too.
With the 5th pick of the 5th round I took LOLB Torian Watts.
With the 10th pick of the 5th round I took RT Bradon Wilson.

With no one I really want I took Dextor Knox (LOLB) in the 6th round.

With my final pick in the 7th round I took Kicker Justyn Price since my current kicker is like 40 and will most likely retire next year.

I think I drafted pretty well getting some sleepers.

Wow my draft was great, expect I went after too many offensive players. I didn't draft any DB's, which I really needed. I didn't even have the required amount of DB's I needed so I had to sign a few from FA. But those LOLB's I drafted are great, and Boma is really gonna improve my line. In my next draft I'll be looking to draft another O-line, and probably draft defensive heavy. I'll post the Depth Chart with the ratings/potential of the rookies along with it. I'll be eating up Stafford's cap since if I cut him that'd be like a 30 million penatly. He'll be the back-up while Dane starts. Anyways the full depth chart is coming up in a few hours.

If anyone is reading this comments would be nice so I know people are following :cool: About to play the first game of the 2010-2011 season, but here's the Depth Chart first (putting spoiler just incase people don't want to know the potential/ratings of the rookies in the class), I'm only putting potential for rookies. The Depth chart below is in order from first string to last;
Spoiler

About to play the first game of the year against the Pats, who's only injury is Brandon Meriweather. Wish me luck, I'll need it LOL.

Yup they're brothers (if you played NFL HC 09 you'd know since they used all of those draft classes in Madden), the Boma's are great lol.

I just played the game and am REALLY surprised with the results, I'm gonna have to turn the quarters down from 11 minutes to 10. I'll get a recap of the game in a hour or two since I don't feel like typing a whole thing at the moment haha.
