Re: Article on Hockey shop from team xbox
I've got to assume PS3 players will also have the option to purchase items? Anyone have info on that? After playing the demo for a while I was really disapointed since there's still plenty of always goals, your AI is useless feels like you're playing by yourself out there (Especially when it comes to you using boardplay), goalies make cool saves but let in every other shot, if the pass across gets to your player it goes in 90% of the time. I could go on and on about the things they said they fixed and didn't. The game plays much more like 2k9 demo from last year which made me and my roomate laugh at how bad it was compared to NHL09. So I figured I'd be playing mostly EASHL this year to avoid pathetic AI and pathetic goalies and now I find out people will just be buying their stats instead of working for them. If PS3's version also has this purchasing stupidity after about 15 years of buying EA's version maybe it's time to see what 2k has to offer.Comment

Re: Article on Hockey shop from team xbox
I'm switching my pre-order from NHL10 to 2k10 tomorrow morning. For some users, the ability to use real hockey equipment is a must. While these pieces of professional equipment are available in NHL 10, the decision was made not to allow them to offer boosts (which we’ll assume has something to do with the perception that a piece of equipment with more boost potential is superior to a piece with less). So, you are free to choose gear from CCM, Reebok, Easton and Bauer, but these bits will be for appearance only.Go Sabres!Comment

While you're obviously free to do whatever you want, talk about jumping to conclusions based on guys getting a few extra stat points from "colorful" equipment. I'm not in love with the whole thing either but wow.Comment

It isn't jumping to conclusions. I came to grips with the silly equipment being in there, but purposely punishing people who want real gear? No thanks.
Tiger Woods doesn't even do that. Sure, you can get boosts from silly stuff, but you can buy legit gear too and get the same boost. At least in Tiger I can make my guy look realistic and still get the same attributes.Go Sabres!Comment

Thats cool, I can understand that. I still don't think the boosts are going to make all that much of a difference if you're playing with guys who play as a team though, even if your guys have unboosted gear. Granted it remains to be seen how it all plays out.It isn't jumping to conclusions. I came to grips with the silly equipment being in there, but purposely punishing people who want real gear? No thanks.

Re: Article on Hockey shop from team xbox
It makes a big difference when they can put extra points into "puck control" or whatever gives them an artificial boost to hold on to the puck and win one on one battles.
I can deal with people having a boost in shooting or passing, but when they can beat me one on one simply because they have goofy equipment...

Re: Article on Hockey shop from team xbox
There are some videos after ... the Carolina intro they got pretty well with the siren and "Rock You Like a Hurricane" ... pretty impressive. Other stuff, not so much. Black equipment? Really? That's only with the alternate sweaters. And for some reason they couldn't get the RBC Center licensing. Carolina Arena? Oy.Comment
