    Diaz vs Malignaggi

I wished I had seen it live, Just got a chance to watch.

I had it a draw, but how did one judge have it 118-110? Comn?

I had it 115-113 Diaz when I watched it live. That 118 judge was corrupt as hell.

      Re: Diaz vs Malignaggi

I didn't score it, but would've guessed 115-113 Paulie. Diaz won the last round, and he was chasing Paulie around the ring. Diaz landed more power punches it seemed, and landed at a higher %. I have no problem with the decision other than the 118-110 score. And even that one shouldn't be that surprising. Some judges hate boxers who just jab and run. Some judges like fighters more than boxers. Even in FN4 I see scorecards that are all over the place.

Last night, online (using Monzon vs his Hagler), I thought I was involved in a very close fight going into the 10th. I thought I was down by maybe 1-2 points going into last round, but managed to knock him down midway thru the 10th and then with about 12 second left I stunned him and floored him again. To his credit, dude got up and we went to the scorecards for a split decision. Because of my 10-7 round, two of the three judges had me winning 96-94 or 95-93, but one judge still gave him the fight something like 97-90 - basically all rounds in his favor except the last one. So it happens...

Sorry acarrero but just because it happens in FNR4 doesn't mean it should happen in real life.

I hate Paulie and was looking forward to watching Baby Bull beat him down, but I found myself rooting for Paulie... I had him winning 115-113. I gained a ton of respect for the guy after that fight. He outboxed the hell out of Diaz. I also think his rant was justified and am glad someone in the sport finally came out and said something about it.

          Malignaggi was robbed.

However, the real discussion should be: What was up with those trunks he was wearing?

the scores should have been closer, but to say Paulie "was robbed" is ridiculous. In no way was he "robbed" of a win. That is going overboard

Did you even watch the fight?

if you call running and throwing pitter patter jabs all night "outboxing" lol

imagine how bad it would have been if they would have gotten a huge ring like Paulie wanted. People want to see a boxing match, not a track meet.

btw, the cut was from an elbow

Don King couldn't have fixed a fight any better than that.

Paulie won. He outboxed Diaz. The judges went beyond home cooking. They not only cooked it, but served it, and ate a 5* Paula Dean style home cooked meal.

Did you watch the fight? It was close and could have gone either way. To say that Paulie was "robbed" of a win and that he was dominant with his running and weak punches is ridiculous. Diaz was the aggressor the entire fight, and definitely landed the better quality punches.

boxers like Paulie often have problems with decisions. No one wants to see someone running the entire fight and throwing nothing but soft pitter patter jabs. It was like Paulie was trying to coast the entire fight, which is ridiculous considering he knew he had an uphill battle going in.

Yes, I watched the fight. Paulie was much more active throughout the fight, even if his punches didnt pack the same amount as Diaz. He fought his fight, and he fought it well. Diaz didn't do enough to win in my opinion.

Actually I do call that outboxing if Diaz was dumb enough to eat those pitter patter jabs all night. Put yourself in his shoes. You're a guy with an obvious speed advantage and obvious power disadvantage, that's what you have to do to win. He was landing much more meaningful punches than Diaz was, that's for sure. Please try and breakdown how you think Diaz won the fight.

What's funny is hearing Diaz after the fight... you could almost hear in his tone that he knew he lost.

One of the worst fights I've ever seen. Personally, I thought it was a close fight favoring Paulie by 2 rounds. Paulie def. outboxed Diaz. I wouldnt say he was running, he was using his footwork very efficiently while at the same time being very active for all 12 rounds. I gained some respect for Paulie, after his performance and when he told it like it was in the post fight interview.

This fight made me not want to watch a fight in Texas ever again.

you obviously didnt watch the entire fight

if you did, then you dont know what meaningful punches entail lol...Paulie had the quantity of punches (of course he did, all he threw were jabs), but Diaz had the quality

Please try and breakdown how you think Diaz won the fight.
Diaz did win the fight. That's a fact. Everything else is sour grapes (much of it most certainly from NE boxing elitists)

Yes one of the scores was lopsided. The scores should have been closer, and it probably should have been a split decision. It was a close fight that could have gone either way...but I dont see how anyone can say that Paulie was robbed. You cant run all night, not even come close to staggering your opponent, and say you were robbed of a win.
