Drastic Fluctuations in Trade Logic (for people who care about trade logic)

After an immense amount of time dealing with trade logic during offline franchise, I have stumbled upon some drastic fluctuations in trade logic that seemingly lacks any pattern of actual logic...

Case 1- Using default rosters start a franchise with the Arizona Cardinals. Before doing anything, select Trade Players and click Cardinals RE Bertrand Berry. For the other team select the Kansas City Chiefs and select CB Brandon Flowers. Press the start button and you will notice that the Chiefs rejected the trade.

Now... Using default rosters start a franchise with the Arizona Cardinals, then follow these steps (and do nothing more than what is listed)...

1st- Sign
LT Kwame Harris from the FA list for a 1 year contract worth $6.87 Million and a $0 signing bonus.

2nd- From Player Management click
LT Mike Gandy and edit him into a RT (Change nothing but his position).

3rd- From Player Management click
LOLB Ali Highsmith and edit him into a ROLB (Change nothing but his position).

4th- From Player Management click
ROLB Chike Okeafor, edit him into a LE, and change his number to #96 (Change nothing but his position and jersey number).

You will notice that absolutely nothing changed in regards to
RE Bertrand Berry or CB Brandon Flowers. All that changed was that you signed a left tackle and changed a few player positions (also you changed Okeafor's uniform number).

5th- Now... Click Trade Players and offer the following trade:

CARDINALS

RE Bertrand Berry

CHIEFS
CB Brandon Flowers
RE Glenn Dorsey
2nd Round Pick

The trade will be accepted by the Chiefs (except that the Cardinals have 55 players already so all you have to do is offer a low rated player such as
47 OVR rated CB Michael Adams to complete the deal).

Case Analysis: The Chiefs would not accept the trade of Bertrand Berry for Brandon Flowers but after signing a player and editing a few player positions (players other than Bertrand Berry) the Chiefs not only accepted the trade, but you are able to add Glenn Dorsey and a 2nd round pick into the trade.

This is a specific case but it's not the only one, I've had this happen on many occasions and it does not seem to have any specific reason for doing this.

wow seems like some people have way too much time on their hand.

It could be a coincidence.. but it could also be that the Cards would be left without a starting RE, so they declined.. and therefore later accepted after you included Dorsey.

Did Madden just enter the twilight zone?

A perfect example of why you should control all 32 teams in Offline Franchise Mode. There is nothing worse than ridiculous trades that have virtually no logic. Pretty interesting how you found each step to get the deal done. Plus you ended up with a 4-3 DT in your 3-4 scheme.

Yea and even more interesting is how one trade allows another... because that trade with the Chiefs opened up the door for...

RT Mike Gandy to the Chargers for Antonio Cromartie, Larry English, and a 2nd round pick.

Then that opened the door for a LE Chike Okeafor to the Chargers for Shawne Merriman, Antoine Cason, and a 3rd round pick.

None of those trades would ever be considered in real life.
