Injured Reserve Petition
 

OK, so the broadcast cam guys all posted to one thread and it was addressed with a patch. Now I know the Injured Reserve thing is more complicated than can be addressed in a patch but it is something that affects a lot of us and needs to be addressed some how.

To summarize, the three main issues I see are:

TEAM MANAGEMENT: Can't place a guy on IR to free a roster spot; and if placed on IR, an injured player can't be released.

ROSTERS: Not all of the players from the actual team are represented due to roster limitations. With no IR, those players who are on IR in real life tie up a roster spot that bumps a player who is not injured but is too low on the depth chart to justify keeping over an injured star player.

FRANCHISE: If a player is removed from the game because he is on IR in real life, that means franchise players will never see that player again even if they play multiple seasons...in essence, being on IR in 2009 is a death sentence for every season played after it as well in Madden 10.

If you agree that this needs to be addressed (finally), please post here. I'd like the developers to see how big an issue this is to many people. Hopefully something will finally be done!

I agree 1000000%.

Why can't Madden have a few rosters spots for players who are inactive?

The inactive slots could be used primarily for players on IR. However, if no one is on IR then it would just be used as sort of a practice squad. Players would be on your team just inactive on Gameday. I mean how hard is that??

NBA Live has this why can't Madden??

i love the new madden 10, but the roster managemnt as it pertains to franchise and real life, needs more work.

before we all get on the case of the devs, they DO know this.

baby steps.

each year more and more will be added.

think of 10 as Madden 07 or 06. its a new dev team, it will take a few years to get where last gen madden frannys were.

Signed. Would like to have to make those tough decisions regarding placing a guy on IR, trying to wait it out, who to sign for depth, etc.

signed. if troy polomalu ends up going on IR, will one of the cover boys be taken out of the game for the year? i think not. i guess the game shouldnt have had tom brady in last year since he was on IR all year.
