Anyone Else Notice This?

I am using the Edmonton Oilers in season mode and I had a player that was injured with a broken nose. I decided to keep him active. The next game, he was wearing a face mask that hung off the bottom (similar to a football facemask) to better protect his face...That is crazy...

I had Ryan Callahan get a fractured jaw in my last game.
Says it's a playable injury but his skills are knocked down a bit. I was going to sit him out for a game or 2 but I might just put him in to see what kind of jaw protection he wears.

I love the little details like this that they throw in. I play with the Wild and Mikko Koivu took a high stick to the face in the game (by his brother Saku, with the Ducks, of all people). He was one of the three stars and I noticed he had a little bruise on his cheek from it. It would have been even cooler if the announcers had mentioned that one brother high-sticked the other in the commentary.

Yeah, I've had this happen. I was playing Pit and beating them 5-1. I leveled Crosby with Dustin Brown and he was slightly injured so when he came back into the game, he skated right over to Brown and high-sticked him in the face and got a 5min pen and a game misconduct and Brown got a broken jaw and a snazzy face shield.. it was awesome.

That's ****ing awesome! I've seen the bruises, cuts, jaw protectors (all of which were cool don't get me wrong) but something like a player seeking revenge, ableit dirty, adds so much to a game.

I agree. I just happened to catch the face shield by accident. I knew my guy was injured with a broken nose and I went to instant replay to see if he had any noticeable face damage. That's when I saw the facial protection....

I agree. It's unannounced little details that I love because it is: A) a surprise to see and B) adds to the immersion....

Lol, in my BAP mode, I got into a fight with milan lucic and got my *** kicked really bad. Next game i had a black eye lmao!

In a two player game vs my son, after one of our fights...his player came back in the game, with a big bandage on his chin.

Little details like this do go along way.

Had this happen during a game with Kopitar getting injured. Kept him out for the rest of the period, but in between periods they said he could play fine with the injury to his jaw so I put him in and sure enough he was wearing the protective gear. It is very cool and definitely adds to the realism of the game, which is already pretty high IMO. The board play this year really makes it feel like a real game much of the time.

In my game last night Andrew Ladd(cpu controlled teamate)facewashed a guy and challenged him to a fight during play,not post play.
the opponent skated off holding his nose,and Ladd got an unsportsmanlike conduct(not a roughing).
Didn't know that was in the game.
