Just started playing online...is this cheese?

Since I just started playing online for the first time in any Madden, I'd like to play str8 but my friend tells me this is cheese. I was wondering if you would consider this cheese?

I try to take advantage of human thinking, since I've played a few people that try to make adjustments to their d at the line. So I've been running out of the same formation. Out of the formation I have a toss, weak dive, draw, play action, and normal passes. So I can pretty much run a whole offense out of one formation but it also prevents my opponent from making adjustments such as nano's because they don't know what's actually coming. But would you consider this cheese or is this ok to play? Now I'm not running the same play over and over I mix it up quite a bit to keep them off guard, just out of the same formation.

No it's not cheese. If you can disguise an entire offense and get all kinds of different looks out of one formation, then more power to you.

sounds like your friend is a sore loser. its not cheese if you're just using the same formation and still manage to keep your opponents off guard. thats just good football

To me, it's no different than using a base defensive formation and running different plays from that to show different looks.

Yeah I didn't think of it that way. That is pretty much the same thing.

Definitely not cheese....smart play calling. I guess it makes your audibles that much more effective too.

Nah thats pretty much how I play... I use the same formation for a whole quarter, and then the next quarter I switch it up. It helps so people cant plan what to do when you come out of a certain formation.

It has helped alot. For example before I used to run a toss out of weak, and nothing else. I used to play action out of strong. And that got real predictable, but I started digging thru both weak and strong and realized I have enough plays to orchestrate whole TD drives, so now thats what I do.

That is the opposite of cheese. That is great playcalling. I remember in high school we had 3 formations and would run about 15 plays out of each formation.

If anyone calls you a cheeser for doing that just ignore them.

No, that isn't cheese ; the formation isn't the only way to tell or anticipate what your opponent is doing anyway. Down and distance also tells you what you opponent will do.

If it's third and long, and you come out with 2 RBs, 1 WR and 2 TEs, I'm still going to play the pass.
