EDIT: This is also a problem when Y is on fade. I feel I'm lacking sufficient YAC since it is typically a jump ball even though I'm just trying to hit just outside shoulder in stride.

Looking off safeties . . .
How do make coverage think I'm going to X receiver but plan on going to the Z receiver whose on a double move streak with the defense being in a 43 cover 2? Any help would be appreciated. Pump fakes do not work. Thank you.

Re: Looking off safeties . . .
Yup, bring it back, its the only way to have tangible interaction with the safeties, otherwise they have to program them to be able to stop anything at anytime.Comment

Re: Looking off safeties . . .
I say bring back the cone, but make it so one player can have it on while the other can have it off. Options are always nice
I doubted you Roy Williams since you only won with a someone else's team... Now you have proven me wrong.
You have earned my respect.

Re: Looking off safeties . . .
Remember when it was first made up, in creation there ws a big thing on this. actually your player looks to where he is throwing. jsut move the stick in the direction of the receiver you want to look off jsut like the cone but thres no cone. try it, it does work i forgot waht they called it some visual perception actual thign or something the eyes move to the receiver

Re: Looking off safeties . . .
That's not fair to the defense ; it's also unrealistic. That's like having the best of both worlds. You can use it to look of the defender, but the user on defense doesn't benefit from the ability to read the QB's eyes.Comment

Re: Looking off safeties . . .
What? The defense was able to see the cone too...
If you have stick skills you can grab a safety or a linebacker and get to the cone. It was also proven that the AI reacted to the cone in years past as well.
If you were dumb enough on offense to stare down your receivers and not snap the cone around, or didn't think enough to center the cone down the field or look somewhere else before the snap, you deserved to have the defender get to the cone and pick you off.
That's how quarterbacks in the NFL do it. I struggle to see why people don't understand this. Passing is so easy now it's ridiculous. I don't even use the safety anymore because I usually haven't the slightest idea where my opponent is passing...Last edited by nosaints26; 10-03-2009, 11:55 AM.Comment

Re: Looking off safeties . . .
Yea the Cone was so awesome, why oh why didn't they leave it as a option....
Bring back the cone with some new tweaks...
And also bring route based passing, and fix the deep ball for Madden 11.
I miss being able to stare to the left side, and bait the safety to move left , then at the last second, look to the right to my wr running a streak, and throwing a Bomb..... that was sweetComment

Re: Looking off safeties . . .
Yes all of the mouth breathers hated the cone because it was by far the most realistic thing that ever happened to madden and they couldnt handle it.
The cone was great beacuse it limited QB to only certain WR based on where they were standing on the field. It was extremely hard to scramble right and then move the stick to the middle or left of the field.
Without the cone there are about 10-15 routes that are impossible to throw because they are based on positioning of the DB. There is no way to alter the positions of a DB so your player will always be covered.
Thats why everyone plays 95% zone coverage because the DB will always be in the right position no matter what.Comment

Re: Looking off safeties . . .
See. This is the sexy. Nothing at the moment is sexy about the passing game in Madden 10. It would also add a lot to playing defense. At the moment, all I do is focus on over the middle routes with Mike.Last edited by reo; 10-03-2009, 03:09 PM.Comment

Re: Looking off safeties . . .
Yeah, but if it the user on offense doesn't have to use the cone everytime he passes, and just activates it when he wants to look off a safety( Madden 06 for the 360), the defense won't get the chance to read the QB's eyes. If the user has the choice to use the cone or not, than the they'll only use the vision cone when trying to manipulate the safety ir LB.Comment
