    NBA LIVE 11: Dynasty Wishes

Ok, I noodled around in dynasty today and man it stinks like a monkey.

    we need an overhaul.
    one year style.

    its sooooooo boring and disconnected.

But thank god [wang and the crew] for dynamic season and the awesome core gameplay.
this game Plays like a dream.
but step in dynasty and its a nightmare.

what is there to do? lol
its funny both games have the tmobile sidekick annd somehow 2k managed to make THAT look ten times better.
big orange background with a basketball in it, it looks like a sidekick does in terms of the menus in it even.

    it even has the jingle.

Ea's has the usual black and silver death look.
    am i being harsh?
small details go a long way.

no its elegant, but has no life to it.

    changes need to happen.

    - hiring/firing coaches

    - bring back legends!

    - cutaways to the bench during games [i wanna see that pensive look on Coach D'antonis mug].

    - crowd shots [like a guy in the crowd sleeping during a blowout and the announcers saying something bout it]

    - nba2k style stat overlays. these ones in live are horrific. truly. this is 2009. whats with the drab black strips? how bout a nice box style overlay, slim and unobtrusive, but bold.

    - scores of other games during your game.

    - actually to narrow this down, and this sounds like a madden presentation request for years, steal everything from 2k! lol

    - fix sim stats

    - add a new color commentator and UPGRADE that commentary. They sound so sleepy, man. wow. trade them to tiger and give us van pelt.
    zzzzzz

    - redo the menus for dynasty, the black and silver is drab and non engaging.
use the espn colors and graphics.

    - add highlights/pre post show like madden 10. add a hot chica.

    - in-game injuries

    - ability to see other box scores from games and view other games.

actually let me cut this short.
in a nutshell, go rent 2k10 look at what they have, and do all that.

play an association game and weep.
    its friggin unreal.

    simply amazing the presentation.

    nothing more to say.

talk of upcoming games, WITH players stats.

    TONS of seasonal pop ups.
on and on and on and on.

i wonder how Ea fell so far behind in presentation.

    lets get it done guys.

    my ea mantra.
you got me back with gameplay, keep me here with presentation.

Like Coolio, lets go all the waaaaaay Liiiive.

I havent played the game as I havent got it yet, but what I have seen between videos of both, 2K does do an amazing job with making you feel like your watching a proper NBA broadcast. To EA's credit, they have focused this year on getting the gameplay right (from what I have seen and read) and I can count on them to progress on not only the gameplay next year but also the presentation to truly immerse everyone in a great basketball game.

      I agree funky seven/

I was just thinking bout it.

2k is like watching a tv broadcast while playing a videogame.
whereas Live is like Playing a videogame with stats popping up.

      2k blurs the line.

I like the 2k approach of merging the two.
Total immersion is what made NFL2k5 so legendary.

      EA can get there.
      CHinese democracy starts NOW!

They actually need a Dynasty mode...I don't know what to call this thing....Got Kobe on here avg 19ppg.....Come on EA...Get a new crew to do your dynasty mode.

Fix the sim stats...You all are banking on dynamic season which no one has seen implemented...I'm not buying this game until I find out if that is glitch free.

Definitly going with the competitor again this year due to the far, far, far and away superior franchise mode.

Not trying to bash the comp, I'm a PS3 owner and I bought it last night (wa-mart didnt have Live in) and was just flat out unimpressed. Yes the commentary is top notch, association is robust, but I dont like the gameplay one bit. Live has made the comp's game unplayable to me. It may not have a deep dynasty mode, but at least there is one. So I am going to craigslist this bad boy and get Live from best buy. I'm really looking forward to it.

If they can do a dynasty overhaul for Live 11, I'm all in!

-- also, add ability to play preseason games.

I like having that there so i can learn the controls in dynasty during real games, without having it affect my standings or win loss record.

Ok i just watched the NCAA 2010 presentation video with cbs integration.

                    ok yea.

ummm ill have some of that for NBA live 11 please lol

                    TNT anyone?

come on boys, you know the fans want a Bug dynasty blowout next year. kick it off with tv style presentation.

                    come on...i got free candy.

addition edit: i LOVE the screen swipes with the alternate team logos that flash on the screen before a replay.

the stat overlays dont match that graphic.
it would be cool IMO, to change the present stat pop up/overlays to match that style.

                      A deep draft mode.

hyping up a college player coming into the draft. Lebron? Dwight Howard? Blake Griffin?
i love watching the NBA draft. Love hearing scouting reports about each player (strength/weakness). I don't feel any of that in LIVE. it has to be the worst scouting/draft set up i've played in years.

I don't want to have to play each rookie in a practice game or mini workout. i just want to be able to hire a scout to be able to give me a full report. how he fits my team, how he's a trouble maker or how he's a leader or a killer 3 shot, anything!!!

I love the gameplay, have to give them that, but i'd love to play with a guy i drafted 3 years ago, who turned into a all-star and lead his team to the championship.

The scouting system sucks, the draft hype sucks, the coaching hire/fire sucks (buying improvements? make it realistic. hire a coach for a reason, not just having a face/name for nothing). Franchise is a MESS!

                      Such a shame

Re: NBA LIVE 11: Dynasty Wishes

I'd like to see sim have the same results as games on the court.

I created a max height center with all 99 rebounding to see what happens. In CPU v CPU games he pulls down 20-30 rebounds per game in 12 minute quarters. Simmed, he averages about 10 RPG.

I remember older games, like Front Page Sports Football, where it would take a long time to sim games because the games were actually being played out in fast speed, behind the scenes.

I'd happily give up the faster sim times if it meant better stats and guys performing in sim like they do in played games. As it is now it seems like outstanding performances rarely happen in sim.

That max rebounding max height center dropped 50+ points in three dynasty games in a row. In sim, he averages about 30 ppg, and hasn't scored more than 38.

Ok, the one thing that nobody is mentioning is that the competition's "Dynasty Mode" is indeed fleshed out, but it's full of bugs.

Stats go missing, some of the depth doesn't seem to have very much impact on what actually happens on the court. By Season 2 of the "Dynasty", the NBA looks like someone drew names out of a hat and made a new league (too many trades).

Live's dynasty is slim and serviceable. Treu, it doesn;'t have the "bells and whistle's" that the competion does, BUT...

What good does is do to have bells and whistle's that don't work well?

Just watched that vid and that looks sick. Ea sports is definitely on the right path now. I think Live needs to add the TNT and ABC presentations.

Also, the draft needs to be deeper and more in depth. I should be sending scouts out to check out players. Getting a report on what players are possibly turning pro and so on.

                              WISH LIST

-- ESPN-style presentation. Give me Greg Anthony, Jeff Van Gundy, Mike Tirico...theres lots to choose from.

Cap it all off with an NBA Coast-to-Coast wrap-up show that uses the same logic as NBA 2K10's dynamic commentary.

-- Regional games and Nationally televised games. Give the Lakers vs Celtics the ESPN overlay. EA did this with NCAA. I know it can be done.

For a Thunder vs. Pacers game, give me two generic announcers with plenty to talk about.

-- Instead of the Dynasty points, turn those point's into $. Hire coaches. Buy gym time. Buy scouts. Unlock some additional DNA. Buy some influence on a free agent at season's end.

-- Deeper draft. Maybe, using the NCAA license, have some profile packages for these players, including photo, game film, measurements, wants, and evaluations.

-- Ability to use real faces in Create-A-Player, just like in Fight Night.
