    Tuning Update

Here are the changes for the tuning update that was just posted (V1.02 for offline changes):

-Goalie and shot tuning to reduce exploit goals.
    -Increased frequency of interference calls.
-Increased chance of CPU fight if user instigates aggression post-whistle (offline only)
-Tuning to make teamplay ratings a bit easier (Be A Pro, EASHL & ranked OTP)
-Acceleration and puck control tuning (EASHL & ranked OTP). The puck carrier will now have slightly less agility and acceleration than other players and will lose the puck a bit more easily.
-Increase poke check effectiveness (EASHL & ranked OTP)
-Slight decrease skating speed when stick lifting (EASHL & ranked OTP)
-Increased chance of unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for fight instigation while the clock is running (online only)

The first update happened before the launch, so these are the differences between the demo or the un-updated disk version (so V1.00 does not have these changes, but V1.01 and after do):

-Increase the effect of the Pass Accuracy slider
-Increase speed loss doing the Leg Kick
-Tuning to reduce effectiveness of an exploit goal using slap shots near the goal line
-Move default shot aim further inside the posts to reduce the number of posts and missed shots
    -Reduce interference penalties
-Increase effectiveness of poke check to dig puck out of boardplay
-Passing improvements (improved assistance for speed of a pass that has not target)
-Fixed bug in the effect of toughness on intimidation

This isn't everything we currently have planned to do, there are a few changes building on top of these already in progress.

Thanks Jason everything looks great in that change list, my only doubt is about:

-Tuning to teamplay ratings (Be A Pro, EASHL & ranked OTP)

What kind of tuning? will it be harder or easier to reach a good gameplay rating?

Awesome. Only played a few Versus games but I liked what I saw so far. The tuner version does apply for ranked versus, right?

Is this an automatic thing even for existing Be a GM? Or is their somewhere in the menus that you need to download the update?

Slightly easier to get a good teamplay rating.

Thanks for the info. It looks like some of the settings are going back to 09 style NHL (puck carrier is slower than everyone else, decreased speed while stick lifting, increased poke check effectiveness).

I would like to know more about the exploit goals that now should be stopped if it is at all possible. Does the goalie still get beat by far away wrist shots every time? Does he still come out too far to challenge the puck carrier (only to leave gaping holes open to his sides)? Thank you.

Does this mean that players that don't fight like Modano, Sakic, etc...will still get into fights, even though it their attributes say a 'never' fighter?

If so, can that be changed for the next update?

god i hope not. I don't want to start seeing Modano, Gaborik, and Ovechkin start fighting

Well they do now. I play with the Stars, and Modano got into a fight. I barely won it with him. But it ticked me off. I was like 'what?" Also, Lehtinen got into a fight as well, and he never fights. Really annoying.

Ovechkin will drop the gloves, but yeah, not the other guys you mentioned.

The puck carrier can go just as fast, he just has a bit less agility now so he can't wheel around as easily. We preferred it with a sharper reduction but wanted to be careful not to overdo it, so it is not a big change. FWIW, 09 did not have slower skating speeds or agility for the puck carrier at all.

I'm going to avoid going into details on the specifics of exploit goals until I see how well they work out. The changes should definitely help, but may not be enough to completely eliminate them. There's are also another couple of cases that we are looking at fixing.
