It has finally happened

After more than 200 games on the 08 version and 150 for the 09, I saw for the first time an error on a routine flyball.

Me (M's) @ KC.
Top 9, 1 out, man on 3rd.

R. Langerhans hit a routine flyball.
D. Dejesus waited for the ball and it popped out his glove.
Beltre on 3rd scored. Langerhans on 1st.

This helped me a lot cause this run (the last I scored) gave me a 11-7 lead and actually the win.




So glad to see it after hours and hours of play.
Curiouly it hasn't been register as an error.

Yeah. I saw Vernon Wells botch an easy fly ball to center in the 4th game of my second season. I scored 2 runs on that error.

Not too long ago I seen Tori Hunter drop a routine flyball in CF for the CPU. Too bad it wasn't ruled an error though. I personally haven't dropped a routine flyball since MLB 06.

I hope this was a point of emphasis for MLB 10—there needs to be a much greater variety of errors and just a lot more done to separate good defenders from poor ones in general.

Seems to be a lucky day since the game after the "dropped" ball, I hit my first inside the park homerun!

I used to get a few of dropped fly balls on the PS2 games, but I don't think I've ever gotten one yet in MLB 09 yet.

Yeah i completely agree also...that being said...it's nice to talk about error variety as an issue instead of gameplay or something more glaring

I just see the occasional outfielder (the CPU) try to track a flyball over their heads non-chantly (it seems) & the ball drops out of their glove or they miss it completely.

Its good for me cause I'll take any runs I can get.

are you guys serious? i regularly see errors in the field where balls bounce off gloves. i think i have only seen one or two standing dropped fly balls.

Milton Bradley ate it today while running to the wall for a fly ball. it was over his head, but he layed out for it and ate dirt on the warning track.

It just happened to me for the first time as well last week.

It started a 3 run 1 out rally!

Played over 200 games this year, and I think I saw it once.... by the AI.

Agreed. Needs work for next year.

Last night while playing 09 on my PSP I saw a new error.
Yankees vs SF Giants in World Series game 6.
Melky hits a smash vs Lincecum down the RF line.
Garko dives for ball to his glove hand and ball ricochets to wall on 1st base line.
Lincecum runs to cover first and garko lops ball over his head for an error.
Bengie Molina hustles to area around pitchers mound to get loose ball and throws behind my runner to first, Safe.

Cool as I have played hundreds of games and never have seen this anamation.
