Re: Has anyone actually played an entire season, and won the World Series?
In MVP 05 I did it twice. The third year I didn't make it to the playoffs.
In MLB 07,08 I played one full season (162 games all played) each. In 07 I won the world series. In 08 I lost in the first round......I reset it and played until I won the whole thing...I CHEATED!

Re: Has anyone actually played an entire season, and won the World Series?
In MLB 08 I played an entire season as the Braves and beat the White Sox in the World Series. It was kind of weird because the season was pretty tough. I limped into playoffs, but the competition was pretty weak once I got there. The White Sox were the only team that I didn't sweep. I was playing on some pretty difficult HOF sliders as well. I think that was the first time I won a virtual world series since MVP 05. Though I did play a ton of seasons with that game. All of the pc mods really extended the life of that game for me.
I managed to make the playoffs again this year.. mostly because the Mets and Philly were barely able to finish over .500. Don't think it's going to be as easy this year though. I'm down 2-0 in the Division Series to the Cubs, and they're just plain better than me. They spanked me during the regular season too, so I think the have my number. Now, more than everComment

Yep, I've done it. I played every single game in my Cubs Franchise. I went 101-61. I played the Yankees in the WS and won in 7 games. I'm in year 2010 now, and I'm 14-9 now.Comment

Played full season, then lost in the World Series. Most heartbreaking thing ever, couldn't touch the franchise for a while.Owner, Spear Interactive

I keep saying that this is the year I do it, yet I never do. I just recently picked back up a copy of the game so I am going back at it. Hopefully by the time Show 10 comes out I will have completed it.Last edited by Darkbandit; 10-14-2009, 11:20 PM.Comment

Re: Has anyone actually played an entire season, and won the World Series?
i always want to, but i can never get myself to play every game.
sometimes i don't like pitching with certain pitchers, so i just sim it.
for example in my giants franchise, i only pitch when zito, lincecum and j. sanchez start.
i think when knight's update is released, i'll finally try and do it.Comment

Re: Has anyone actually played an entire season, and won the World Series?
Last year on HOF I won the World Series with the Red Sox, played all 162 in that season. However this year I'm 114 games into my Sox franchise on legendary. I'm 65-49 so far, just 1.5 games back of the Yankees and leading the Wild Card by 2.0 games. The game is so much harder his year, but I'm loving it. I crusied into the playoffs last year with a 123-39 record. It'll be tough but I'm sure I'll make it to the playoffs. I'm currently on a 12 game winning streak. Before the streak I was 8.0 games back in my division, luckily we played the Yankees in a 4 game series during my streak. Hopefully I can keep up this level of success and win the World Series again.Comment

Re: Has anyone actually played an entire season, and won the World Series?
Oh yeah I do this all the time. I don't ever sim - I hate it. I played 5 full seasons of MVP 05 (3 on xbox, 2 on PC) and won the WS twice. Playing a full season (or multiples) in a franchise and staying interested is the mark of a good baseball title for me. I played 3 seasons of WSB 2k3, for instance. I've never been able to complete a 2k season... so do the math there
As for The Show 09, I'm only on my second season, but to be fair I did bring up 3 RTTS careers before I even started franchise, so I just started in franchise maybe in June. I played the first season and won something like 110 games with a ridiculous lineup, then it even got more ridiculous in the offseason. I swept everyone through the playoffs during the first season. This season the difficulty is raised and the competition is fierce. My dream team is playing well but still only 2 games up on the Twins in mid June. It will probably take me about 2-3 months to finish this season.
So yeah, some of us finish seasons and never sim

Re: Has anyone actually played an entire season, and won the World Series?
I have. I played all my games as well. I averaged around 10 games a week and won the World Series with the Yankees. Had to play the Mets in Subway Series II . Won it in 6 games if I recall. Im currently in my second season with the Yankees and midway through April 2010.PSN: ckarlic

Re: Has anyone actually played an entire season, and won the World Series?
I did it with the Royals went 107-55 and had a great playoff run, came back from a 2-0 deficit and 3-1 deficit in the ALDS then beat the cubs 4-1 in the world series.Comment
