Year in and year out 2K has better commentary than EA Sports when it comes to B-Ball games and from watching the demo this year is no different. I like the addition of Gus Johnson and all but they sound boring. The commentators didn't say a word for 6-7 seconds in the gameplay video when the teams were passing the ball. In 2K they would of start a conversation with each other about the programs, players, coach. Live 10 commentary sucked and from the gameplay video of NCAA Basketball 10 it is no different.

The game will hit stores in 4 weeks. Do you think they will call Gus Johnson, Brad Nessler, ect. back to the studios before the game drops? I doubt it. Even if its not the final build it seems unlikely the commentary will be much different from the gameplay video.Comment

Well....that didn't take long, 4 weeks prior to release and 2 weeks prior to a demo dropping.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

The commentary is awful because they are reading lines(you can see them reading the lines in one of the preview videos) and they SOUND like they are reading lines. It's not natural and doesn't flow with the game. It's similar to madden commentary with more emotion.Comment

That will forever be an issue! Notice in one video with the CBS guys, where Gus seemed over excited for no reason and it was with random pauses. And then the next guy comes in, then Gus says something, (PAUSE) and the next guy repeats what he says with his own version. Wash and repeat!
That is what annoys people, it's robotic and not exciting. Everything else about the game is looking good. Just little things like that. No, they won't call Gus and Brad back to the studio, but the question is, is it fully implemented at the time of this build for the video? No one actually knows that answer, so I would withhold judgment until a final build video is seen. I know the NBA Live commentary on the demo was a step back from the final version. Sometimes they cut commentary to save space.
In any event, for me, even if that's the final, I don't know how much I will notice when I'm actually playing, since I'll be focused on the game and not what Gus is really saying. The only times I'll probably notice him is during those tight moments when his energy adds to the excitement. Not with :28 on the shot clock and swinging the ball around the perimeter.Comment
