Miami Dolphins '10 Offline Franchise (xbox 360)

Hey all! I started a new Miami Dolphins franchise and will be updating this thread with every game, trade, signing and draft pick that I make! I will not be looking too much into what other teams are doing unless they are note-worthy, but this should be fun! This first post is just an explanation of my franchise and team. I will be doing at least one game tonight, maybe more!

If anyone has any questions for me or any comments PLEASE POST! I love talking about this kind of stuff and will chat about anything. Will also post more information if requested, like cap space, player caps, ages, etc. Just let me know! Help me make this the funnest franchise ever!

I will be using DrewBledsoe's Realistic Stats sliders

Opening up against the Jaguars I felt confident I could apply my gameplan. Run the ball down there throat then go for gold with big plays over the top. Part one of my plan went pretty good for the 1st quarter, running the ball all the way down the field with Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams with a few slant and out routes here and there. On the 10 yard line I hit my TE A. Fasano on an IN route for the first points of the game. After that score I shut down Jacksonville with a 3 and out and got the ball back. For the rest of the half I split up passing and running almost 50/50 but was only coming away with field goals. 16 - 6 going into half time. In the 2nd half I tried running the ball but my back up linemen let me down, going for mainly negative yards and a few 3 and outs. I started to churn up the passing game some and managed a few field goals and bleed the rest of the clock so I could walk away with a win and some good stats.

Going into week 2 I figured now is the time to really test the running game against a top notch run stop team. In the first half I mainly ran the ball gaining 2-3 yards on average. At times they stopped me for negatives though. Moved the ball downfield a few time but could only muster field goals the entire game. There run defense was holding me up. Tried going for a few open bombs after play action but Pennington's spaghetti arm threw a pick. Was a very tight game. With less then 3 minutes to go I break a 9-9 tie with a field goal and kick off. They of course return it to the 47 yard line and proceed to run the ball on me. I play soft, waiting for a big throw that never came. They squeeze out a field goal from the 30 yard line and tie the game with less then 1:30 to go. On my final drive I start hitting T. Ginn, jr on out routes and slants and manage to get myself in field goal range for the game winning field goal with no time on the clock. This was very close game when it really shouldn't have if I focused on passing in the first half.

The game plan in this one was pass first, ask questions later. Which I did all through out the first and second quarters. Small throws, running a west coast type offense which is difficult to do with such a limited playbook. My newest acquisition M. Rucker seems to be promising. I picked him up in the free agency as a young fill in for A. Fasano, but Rucker can make plays himself. In the first half he made a few key blocks on run plays and when he started in the 2nd half, he only made one catch but it was on third and long for 14 yards and the first down. Star RB Ronnie Brown was injured early in the game with a lower back strain, and was benched for fear of further injury. Although I did not produce the explosive offense I was hoping for, I did control the ball with small throws and ran the ball out of passing formations to keep the defense guessing. Good game overall.

Honestly I just wanted a win comming out of this one to keep the pre season perfect and to see how the Saints operate as I'll be facing them later on in the season. The game was a tad slow in the beginning, running the ball and throwing short passes to TE's and RB's. Stopped D. Bree's passing attack in the first half and held him to only 1 touchdown by keeping pressure on him from all sides. I came away with 5 interceptions in total, 3 from Bree's. Was a very good game defensenvly for me and controlled the ball well. Looking forward to starting the regular season against the falcons and seeing if I can take these Dolphins to the superbowl!

Dolphins Shut Out Falcons 33-0!

Going into the game I was thinking I needed to stop there passing attack to win this game. Playing conservative I held the Falcons to 3rd & 5 and 3rd & long all game. In the first quarter on a 3rd & 9 try ROLB J. Porter made a clean hit on QB M. Ryan that injured him for the game. He will now be out for 4 weeks. I planned a power run game against the falcons but was only minimally effective against there stout defense. Dumping the ball off to the RB's and hitting WR D. Bess for a big 61 yard touchdown put me in the driver seat to just cruise to victory as my defense came away with a shut out.

Dolphin's Win Home Opener!

Everyone knows the Colts are a great team, and this was going to be a tough match up. With QB P. Manning driving down the field I do nothing but try to stop the big pass, the big play. Using cover 3 mainly the whole game, I could only contain there passing game. In the red zone though, P. Manning could not handle the pressure and threw several interceptions, all within field goal range. Piling on yardage through my run game, I managed to get a touchdown in every quarter, while holding the Colts to there first points, 3, in the 3rd quarter, and only 1 touchdown late in the 4th. With control of the running game and no big plays, it was hard for the Colts to manage anything against such a solid defense.
