Is the Atmosphere patchable?
I was wondering is 2K able to patch something like the crowd noise ie, booing VC in Toronto, or being louder during the playoffs and NBA Finals? etc.

I'm hoping, because that's the one thing that I think Live REALLY shines at... atmosphere. There is no competition in that area. The other areas, the games compete fairly well against one another, but Live takes the crown without contest in that aspect.
Here's to hoping they can figure out a way to patch it.

Re: Is the Atmosphere patchable?
how about being loud period? Crowd is dead man.."I'm so far ahead of my time, I'm bout to start another life
Look behind you, I'm bout to pass you twice
Back to the future and gotta slow up for the present
I'm fast, dudes can't get past my past
How they supposed to deal with my perfect present?"Comment

Re: Is the Atmosphere patchable?
I agree with everyone in this thread.
I would think it IS patchable.
They did put in 'dynamic' crowds.
Its only sound, so i figure, yes.
Well shall see.
Yes, Live has an unreal arena ambience.
just unreal.
the new measuring stick.
2k has too much sound shifting. its loud, then it suddenly stops.
ugly.

Re: Is the Atmosphere patchable?
Every game sounds like Game 7 playoff to me.
I think they need to have less people in the stands and lower volume during hte regular season. Then they can use this crowd/atmosphere for the playoffs.Comment

I think this game almost has it right. Every game, even playoff games aren't raucous. The crowd gets loud when they're supposed to get loud for the most part.-Rocky Balboa"Maybe I can't win. But to beat me, he's going to have to kill me. And to kill me, he's gonna have to have the heart to stand in front of me. And to do that, he's got to be willing to die himself. I don't know if he's ready to do that."Comment

No one is saying that but a playoff game shouldn't sound the same as preseason games.Every game, even playoff games aren't raucous.
Only in New Jersey they aren't but for the most part they are.even playoff games aren't raucous.#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Is the Atmosphere patchable?
There are a lot of lulls in the crowd atomosphere. Sure, the fans do their trademark chants and cheers, but there isn't much variation in the crowd reaction to different moments in the game. Also, the ambiance and "background crowd banter" could use a boost. They took a LARGE step in the right direction though.Amen.Lol, people get enjoyment from their game in different ways. Why they enjoy one thing over another is not really important. --trobinson97Comment

Re: Is the Atmosphere patchable?
My biggest crowd complaint has been that it dies out at random moments, particularly when too many good things are happening in a row. If you go on too big of a run, or create a sequence where you dunk, steal the ball at half court and dunk again, by the time you get to that 2nd dunk, the crowd often does not really respond. Where it should be an explosion, we get indifference.
When they're loud, they're loud. But it's the inconsistant reactions that have been my issue.Comment

Re: Is the Atmosphere patchable?
They sure don't react properly on some amazing dunk or are very slow to react.
Makes for a dull experience at times of excitement.Comment

Took the words RIGHT outta my mouth brother...hopefully, they can patch it (or at the very least fine-tune-it for 2K11)
