    ROTY candidates so far?

is there even a debate this year? anytime the guy touches the rock there is a big play happening or on the way. I don't see any other offensive rookies making that kind of impact. even without favre, the man would still be clowning. that's my opinion what's yours?

Re: percy harvin rookie of the year

    Are you serious?

    First, it is week 8.

Second, of course there is debate.

Harvin is 55th is receiving yards. As comparison, Knowshon Moreno is 18th in rushing yards.

Side note, I am not saying Moreno should be RoTY. I just didn't feel like looking up what other rookies have done but wanted to make the point that to say there is no debate is absurd.

People said the same thing about Sanchez a few weeks ago.

        Don't forget Hakeem Nicks.

This thread is WAY too premature.

way to early to tell. Mark Sanchez, Moreno, Harvin, Crabtree (needs a strong 2nd half obviously), Stafford. Way to early to say it's gonna be Harvin.

The defensive ROTY is more important anyway. Everyone knows defense > offense.

            Brian Cushing FTW!

Jairus Byrd is definitely in contention with his 7 INTs in 4 games

                Re: ROTY candidates so far?

There's been lots of solid rookies so far this year. IMO Sanchez and Harvin are the front runners right now.

You do realize that 3 or 4 wide receivers line-up play in and play out compared to 1 running back. Therefore, Harvin compared to Moreno is pretty similar, other than return yards which Harvin has.

                      Off.- Harvin
                      Def.- Byrd

it's 2 running backs and 2 receivers nowadays really. maybe 3 receivers at the max, but you'd be hard-pressed to find somebody's 3rd string WR with more yards than someone's #1, whereas you can find a #2 HB with more than someone else's #1

True. With the spread now, I was thinking Indy, NE, Pit, NO, etc. All those teams use 3 WR or a tight end as a WR. He was comparing two completely different positions and acting as if they were the same.

Again, my point wasn't that Harvin isn't better than any of the other rookies. To me it is too early to get into that debate.

My point is that it it is way to early, and ridiculous to say that there is no debate that Harvin would be the RoTY at this point.

One thing is for sure in all of this.....it definitely isn't Darius Heyward-Bey.
