Congrats and thanks to the 2k team

Just wanted to have one thread showing only appreciation for the improvements that the patch has made. There are plenty of threads discussing "beta testing" and "what should and shouldn't be" in the release. Some people know that I have had some particularly strong feelings about aspects of this game out of the box myself.

However, there has been a lot of that, and will be plenty more.

Beyond everything, I've never questioned that these guys work hard to accomplish their goals and please their fans, and for the most part, this patch has been pretty damn successful. The hard work has paid off, and this is unquestionably a better basketball simulation, and a better videogame after the patch.

    So nice job.

So you have come to the light, so 2k is a SIM to you now, cool, thats what I was telling you, all the elements were there just needed to be excuted properly, 2k has done that, and im close to saying this is the least cheezeable game I have played in a while. NOBODY CAN SCORE OVER 38 POINTS ON ME CAUSE I KNOW THE DEFENSE IN AND OUT, I COULD NOT BE THIS EFFECTIVE BEFORE, IM LOVING IT.

Great work on the patch. Very pleased with the out come and how it improved a already really good game. I'd be interested in seeing what the score would be now if someone reviewed it.

This is an appreciation thread. If you want to go tit for tat, I will gladly do so at a more appropriate time and place. This thread is just to appreciate the effort to overcome the drawbacks of a tight development schedule.

The patch in IMO, was a major success.

Most of the GAMEPLAY issues that were brought to light have been addressed. The bonus and surprise for me is the contact animations and their variety contextually.

The fatigue issue however, is one that's still open ended. It really didn't need to be altered IMO.

            Bravo 2K....

I remember Simballer (2k dev) saying how the patch would yield a ton of surprises for the better, and boy did they ever come through in the clutch, when the naysayers and nattering nabobs cursed their product to the high heavans. They hit it out of the park with this patch, in so doing, they may have just put the icing on the cake to will amount to the best b-ball sim to date!

Re: Congrats and thanks to the 2k team

Its amazing how people got all bent out of shape as if 2K constantly produces garbage. They deliver them yearly the best B-Ball game(despite whatever flaws) and it seems the haters are the ones that do the ***** cheerleading each year in the forum.

No excusing the out of box experience on release day and all the problems. They were rightly trashed for that, but did they really doubt the 2k gang was gonna leave them to play garbage(even in its garbage state it was better than the other game....and I like the other game) for a full year without having righted this travesty of 2k protocol........

Let the haters hate, the truth will one day set them free. Once again 2K do what they do. Produce hits. They the Stax records of video games.

                          Even in an appreciation thread,

I refuse to take bait in this thread though. The patch is a job well done, and that is what this is all about. I'm sure this won't even begin to balance out all of the coming criticism for this game, some of which will indeed come from yours truly, haha.

But for now, let's do what people rarely do and just show some love for a good effort.

Developers, programmers, producers and artists often talk about how their failures are discussed ad nauseam while their successes are largely ignored. Let's prove 'em wrong, eh?

Also, I've always felt that the community should be very vocal about what it likes, so certain things don't get overlooked or taken out in future iterations. So if you like the increased contact in the paint, improved defensive control and a better sense of ratings affecting the game, applaud nice and loud right now, so we can get more of a good thing.

Im happy with 2k....I mean they already had my $60 bucks so they really could have done nothing except tell me "see ya next year."

2K was is still above the competition but they are catching up ever so fast all of a sudden.

                              Hey guys,

I have to say that this thread is a great idea. I really enjoy the game, which I just bought for the PC, and it isn't even patched yet!

I find it very taxing that each and every game that comes out from 2k and other companies always has forums full of people that spew the most hateful text. I get the impression that one person has a gripe and then 20 other people jump on board and try to out insult or degrade the game. Minor and Major problems arise in every game and most of them are fixed.

Anyways I am happy with this game and look forward for a patch for PC. My only concern though is that with a PC patch am I wasting my time starting an association?
By time you have read this, you have already read it.
