    petition to EA

After getting completly fed up time and time again, (note - not because i don't know how to play hockey or am bad at the game), but because of buyable stat boosts.

This needs to be fixed, it puts people that actually want to play the game at a severe disadvantage especially if they don't want to grind out every stat boost requirement for everything they want to do.

How you may ask? Well, if you've ever played online in OTP or EASHL on either platform I'm sure you've seen someone with gold equiptment get the puck poked away (or should i say at) by a defender that's in perfect position and still either retains the puck or loses it for .1 of a mili second and retains the puck.

    It needs to be fixed.

There are multiple solutions to this four of which are:
A - Tone down stats in general
B - Take away stat boosts in general
C - Take away buyable stat boosts so that you have to earn them
D - Add in a 'hardcore' EASHL league/OTP lobby for those of us that like authentic, not gold gear, santa hat hockey.

Please show some support @ this petition
Dear Electronic Arts, please fix the buyable stat boosts for EASHL in NHL 11. By either adding a hardcore league with authentic gear for people who only want to play real hockey or just take it out all together.

    Sincerely,
    A very disgruntled customer.

PS. I hope this doesn't violate any forum rules such as advertising, for that's not what it is meant to do

Option D would be the best in my opinion. The EASHL's two leagues now (Casual and Professional) have literally know differences other than Casual having pass assists on. (I belive this is the only difference, correct me if I'm wrong).

I think adding a "hardcore" option to make the game realisitc hockey would be a great idea, sadly this would be added in NHL 11 not 10.

I do agree with this. I like to play otp and they should at least tell you before you start that the other team is boosted. I learned this the hard way after joining a couple of games and getting beat up by super players. Maybe they could have a room or lobby with created teams or something so those guys can bang on each other.

I hate quitting but I'm not going to play like that, at least if you quit unranked play it doesn't count on your record.

I do agree. But just to point out, gold packs are awful and don't help your guy much.

I'm all about option D. I said the same thing when all this bonus crap was announced before the game released. I understand that lots of people like all the arcadey stuff and that's cool, just have an option for those who don't because I think there are enough of us.

I look at it like Call of Duty (though I look at everything like Call of Duty it seems since MW2 came out ). That game offers a hardcore mode for people who don't want to play the insane normal mode. Some like it, some don't at least they gave us an option!

I don't play online but i think that is what this thread is about, online boosts you can earn to use in the game, they aren't talking about cpu boosts.

i'm all over this and I wear the gold crap. I hate it but i feel like it's necessary.

i will not buy NHL11 if I'm forced to spend yet another $10 or whatever to bring my player up to speed with everyone else in the EASHL.

I fully support an Authentic Rules EASHL game mode with no equipment boosts whatsoever. All "boosts" should come from XP.

Why do you wear the gold boosts when it hinders your guy? It's only good for the first two cards then it just makes your guy horribly worse.

Man, I'm glad I don't play online - I just ignore this boost silliness. I have no doubt it is here to stay though. Those of you who bought the boosts have guaranteed EA will never drop the concept.

                    Re: petition to EA

The EASHL is a joke IMHO. It is a MMORPG. To be good, it takes no skill, just money and/or hours played.

I consider myself to be an above average d-man in the game, but I go against these guys with veteran cards and above and I'm useless. I poke the puck and it never leaves their stick.

I play Modern Warfare 2 and even though I'm only level 20-something I can play against people who have hit 70 and even prestiged. Even though they have a lot more weapons and perks, I can still play and have fun and compete on a reasonably level playing field. In MW2, it is fun to level up, but not essential.

In the EASHL... boosts and cards rule. I play once a week with a bunch of friends and none of us even have a veteran card yet. When the game came out we could play and compete with anyone. Now? We lose every single game. Our shots bounce off the post while people with higher attributes can bury bad angle shots. We have no chance... we're just cannon fodder.

At times, the EASHL has been almost as fun as playing the real game, which says a lot. Mostly though it is frustrating. The "casual" league needs to be for casual players who don't log hundreds of hours in the game. People who play more can simply defy the laws of physics, and that just sucks IMHO.

Boosts are the reason I stopped playing this game.

It's no fun being at a competitive disadvantage just 'cause the other guy's spent more money than you.
