    Dunking...

Hey guys... I know that Live had a problem with too many dunks... but now it seems like I can't dunk it. I've even put up the dunking ability and it seems like even on fast breaks my players go for layups. There was only one time I had a dunk.

Any help??? (and yes... I'm pressing R2... just avoiding the obvious!)

Press shoot further out and on the run. One thing I noticed is that under 6'5 or so, it's hard to dunk the ball. It's easier to do it with big guys in transition.

You likely need to increase the actual player's dunk rating. I noticed that most, even guys that can dunk, are not above about 65. I increased one guy to 80 and he had 2 or 3 dunks in one game.

Fastbreaks are harder on this game than Live, and they were on the low side in that game. I swear I think the court is too small, which makes it harder to drive to hole as well?!?

Dunks are fairly few and far between. Not a totally awful thing, but the occassional fast break dunk would be nice.

I think the CPU gets back on defense a little too fast/too well. I don't think sliders can fix that either, might just be a negative we'll have to live with.

Ehh, you are correct, that is most definitely an issue. On top of that the offensive players don't really fill lanes or continue to basket either. Seems to be no logic built in. On Live I could get fastbreaks easier by using right stick flick passing, but that hasn't assisted me in this game. Perhaps a patch (if we get one - fingers crossed) will help?

As the user you can remedy this quite nicely using OBC, takes a little while to get used to it because you have to do it very quickly but when you pull it off it's pretty sweet.

                      Re: Dunking...

I have only gotten through 2 full games (10 min halves and on All-Conference) thus far. While I have not altered any sliders, I must say that dunking seems to be on the low side, out of the box. Now I did get about 4 open court dunks with Damion James and Gary Johnson combined in my 1st two games, which was pretty sweet. I was actually able to jump the passing lane with Avery Bradley and knock the ball into the front court where my forwards (James and Johnson) were able to gather it up, in stride, and throw it down hard. But I have only seen 1 dunk out of the half court set.

                        Re: Dunking...

I've begun to do rating edits and I think the problem lies in the individual player attributes. Tons of players have their Dunking attribute in the 30's, though I don't know if this is standing dunk or running dunk (I assume it's running). Stanley Robinson has like 34 for dunking or something awful.

Hopefully dunking will be better after the edits.

I noticed that too i was editing a player and most of the team even big guys don't have a high dunking rating and the layup rating is higher than the dunking

Have you tried lowering the game speed slider? Everything at default goes way too fast [IMO]. The slower game speed enabled me to see the floor better and really helped on fast breaks and/or drives to the lane.
