What happened to releasing old players into free agency?
 

I recall in Madden 09 there was a list of players, I think old school or something, that you could release into the free agency pool. Anyone know whats up with that, or am I just overlooking it?

Are you referring to the hall of fame players? I know they are still available through the fantasy draft but I don't know if you can get them released to free agency anymore

yes you can, you go to the hall of fame team in the rosters and click a player and release them. I got barry sanders on the raiders and joe montana...im so pathetic

Thanks for the info, but I went to hall of fame list in my franchise and there's no option to release any of them. Its just biography, career stats, and cancel are the only options?

Is there only a certain time in the season where this works?

You've got to do it before you start a franchise.

Ahh, I knew it was something like that I was missing. I'll wait til the start of my second season.
