Does OVR and POT affect trades???

I have started a Colts franchise recently just for kicks and decided to trade for HB- Kevin Faulk from New England, it has been weird, otherwise...

Receiving- (87) cost 08 2nd round and either 09 6th or 7th round picks...

Power- (71) cost 08 6th round and either 09 6th or 7th round picks...

What gives, why does is cost more one way and less the other, wouldn't it cost the same because he is the same guy but his stats are better in one philosphy than the other???

Any insight to this small delima would be appreciated...

Yes, def can be abused.

Think of this.....

The team you are trading with knows you value a receiving RB, so they drive the price up becuase they know you have high value at that. on the other hand if you prefer a power back, Faulk obviously isn't a power back so the team looks at it as hell he aint gonna give us much, might as well get what we can.

Makes sense to me

I don't think the CPU trade logic looks at potential; it is definitely geared more to overall. The price for trade is much higher for a 95 overall player than a 65 rated overall player.

On a side note, has anyone noticed a major drop to players who spend major time in free agency. I noticed a lot of free agents had dropped from 75 overall to about 55 overall, both their overall and potential saw major drops. It was particulary noticeable the second year with former players from the 2008 draft.

I like that, because i find it too easy to find very good players in FA. I like that the talent drops. There should not be 80 OVR players in FA.

His ovr and pot is the same... I get what u are saying the other team knows what there players are able to do so that is actually neat...

This game just keeps on surprising me!!!

OVA is also affected by how well he has been playing. So if guys sit in FA, their OVA will drop.

As for the philosophy change, yep it's an exploit. I don't use it as it feels better to build a team by not cheating; this game isn't that difficult.

yea, definitely an exploit as you could have a OVR 90 speed back who is a lousy 50 power back so you get them to trade you the player for the value of the 50 player and use him as a 90
